Tuned In: Colbert Gets Otherworldly As Bjork Performs “Cosmogony”

When Björk takes to the stage you get to thinking that modern pop stars like Lady Gaga might not exist if it hadn’t been for the pioneering avant garde of pop. Suitably fruity in a voluminous orange hairstyle and futuristic electric blue dress, Björk intersects experimental fashion and art with pop music in a way that is now commonplace, but somehow the Icelandic beauty still manages to make it completely unique, without a hint of repetition or tiredness. Performing “Cosmogony” from her new album Biophilia on The Colbert Report, Björk was simply divine, her haunting vocal cruising along the wave of sweet harmonizing by an all-female choir.

Bj?rk And Michel Gondry Reteam For Stop-Motion Lights-And-Rhythms “Crystalline” Video

Just a week after the premiere of “Don’t Play No Game That I Can’t Win,” the latest collaboration between the Beastie Boys and Spike Jonze (who returned to music-video direction after somewhat of an absence), another director from his era has returned thanks to an artist with whom the director has collaborated a number of times before. Today’s returning talent: Michel Gondry, helming the mostly stop-motion video for Bj?rk‘s new single “Crystalline.”
