Will Rihanna And Chris Brown Perform Together At The VMAs? The Rumors Are Never True

Will Rihanna and Chris Brown perform together at the MTV Video Music Awards next week? According to Media Take Out, Rihanna has “demanded” that Chris Brown be allowed to join her onstage at the show as a surprise guest. As per their report:

Artists usually have to submit their performances FOR APPROVAL by producers within two weeks of the show. And we’re told that Rih demanded to have CHRIS BROWN perform with her.

A person working with the VMAs told MediaTakeOut.com, “[The producers] like the ratings that [a Chris-Rihanna duel] would bring, but there could be some backlash too . . . There isn’t much choice since Rihanna is insisting that he perform with her.”

Let’s take this with an ocean’s worth of salt, because sometimes MediaTakeOut’s sources get things wrong; and also, let’s note that there is no way of knowing from just this that said demands submitted for approval were actually approved. Read more…

2 Chainz Tops Billboard Charts With “Based On A T.R.U. Story”

2 Chainz Debuts At No. 1 on Billboard Charts

2 Chainz‘s rap game takeover has been a long time coming. The Georgia rapper that had us all screaming, “2 Chaaaaainnnnz” was a coveted feature artist in the way Nicki Minaj was in 2009. Those days are long gone and the wait was certainly worth it. His debut album Based on a T.R.U. Story topped the charts for the No.1 spot on the Billboard 200. According to Nielsen SoundScan the album sold 147,000 copies. For a little perspective: that’s almost 20,000 more units sold than pop star Chris Brown‘s Fortune. Talk about coming out the gate swinging. Read more…

Rihanna Still Loves Chris Brown, And That’s Her Right

Rihanna Admits She Still Loves Chris On Oprah Interview

Rihanna‘s free spirit of being her authentic self, flaws and all, is partly why her navy is over 24 million deep on Twitter. Above all, the 24-year-old Barbadian beauty is relatable. Last night Rihanna’s interview with Oprah for OWN’s Next Chapter humanized her in a way that very few journalists can do like Oprah. Her transparency about her life, her mistakes, was nothing short of commendable. It made me like her even more. Yet there were times the interview was difficult to watch.

Outside of her massive success–highest digital selling artist in history with 50 million downloads–people were most curious about her past and present status with Chris Brown. The Queen of daytime talk shows used her magical interviewing skills to get Rihanna to open up about what many of us had already suspected–she still loved Chris. Read more…

Does Chris Brown Feel Horrible After Seeing A Clip Of Rihanna’s Emotional Oprah Interview?

Chris Brown Reacts To Rihanna Crying on Oprah

Oprah knows how to boost those OWN network ratings. Leading up to her suspenseful interview with Rihanna on Next Chapter this Sunday, a teaser was released of Rihanna crying while explaining how she felt after the infamous 2009 incident with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown. The video made headlines reigniting the conversation around if the two were still in love and if everyone should forgive Chris now. An emotional Riri said she lost her best friend, but as angry as she was she wanted to protect him. “It became a circus and I felt protective. That Bottle Brawl Might Cost Drake And Chris Brown $16 Million

Looks like that June altercation could cost Drake and Chris Brown their dignity and then some. Entertainment Enterprises, the company that owns the nightclub where the now infamous late night brawl went down, has filed a lawsuit against the dueling rappers, alleging “gross negligence,” “ultrahazardous activity,” and “illegal acts,” and seeking a not-so-cool $16 million in damages. And were that not enough to get the boys sweating, the suit goes on to suggest that defendant Brown and defendant Drake’s fight was a violent escalation of a “shared grudge against the other arising out of their romantic relationships with the same woman.” That woman, of course, being Rihanna. Yikes!

Not much more has come of the fight since June — both continue to deny that they took part in the fight and neither seems to have the bait on that boxing match. Will they put their differences aside and come together to fight the case and maintain their innocence? Or will they take the strike, pay up, and continue to duke it out on the low — on the mic, over Moon Men, etc.?

It’s Like The 90s All Over Again In Brandy’s “Put It Down”

Graffiti in neon colors? Check. Brandy rocking box braids and a ‘fro? Check, check. Brandy giving us the 90s/early 2000 vibe that solidified her place in music history? Yes! Life Is Good When You’re On Top, And Nas Is On Top With No. 1 Album

Life Is Good No.1

It’s a good thing we’re not Nas. With all the good news he’s had recently, we’re not so sure we could resist the temptation of celebratory cocktails every night. After the highly anticipated Life Is Good lived up to the hype, the numbers are in. Nasir Jones’ 10th album topped the Billboard 200 at No. 1 making this his fifth number one. According to Nielsen SoundScan, Life Is Good sold 149,000 in its first week, which is more than pop stars Usher (128,000) and Chris Brown (134,000) debuted. Don’t call it a comeback; because if you’ve paid attention, the Queens legend never really left. Read more…

Brandy “Put(s) It Down” All Over The Stage

Brandy Performs Put It Down in D.C.

Ponder on this: Brandy was 15-years-old when her debut self-titled album Brandy dropped. At 33 the R&B songstress still has the powerful voice beautiful enough to put goosebumps on your arms. At 93.9 WKYS’s free concert held at the Howard Theatre in D.C., Brandy performed Put It Down in a royal blue romper. Brandy is back like she never left! Along with a couple backup dancers, B puts the ‘umph’ in every choreographed move hitting each gyration flawlessly. Similar to her BET Awards tribute to Whitney Houston, it’s obvious Brandy is here to win. The vocals? My god. Like every time Brandy opens her mouth (remember her singing Sam Cooke’s “A Change Is Gonna Come” in her bathroom acapella?), even performing a song about putting it down between the sheets, she reminds you why she’s a true vocalist to the core. P!nk Passes Lady Gaga And Katy Perry With 12 Top 10 Hot 100 Hits

Pink Passes Katy Perry and Lady Gaga With 12 Top 10 Hits

Yes, P!nk is known for her feisty personality as the person that says what everyone else is thinking. Take for instance her throwing shade on Twitter about Chris Brown‘s lip-syncing performance at the Billboard Awards, or the “Stupid Girls” song dedicated to, well, stupid girls. But it’s the hits she churns out consistently that she’s best known for. “Blow Me (One Last Kiss),” the first single from the forthcoming The Truth About Love, rose 49 positions making it the No. 9 song on the Billboard Hot 100 this week. And that No. 9 position gives her more top 10 hits than Lady Gaga and Katy Perry. Considering her 12 year career there’s no surprise there. Read more…
