TLC week keeps rolling on as we get closer and closer to the premiere of CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story this Monday at 9 PM/8C on VH1! We’ve already told you all about the records shattered by T-Boz, Chili and Left Eye, but now let’s see how they stack up among the other uber- famous hit-making trios in the musical galaxy!
Some of the most talented groups in music history have also been among those most fraught with tension, infighting, and egotism. And whenever we find out that these legendary bands break up, you find yourself thinking, “Can’t we all just get along?”
It’s all the rage these days to complain about concert attendees who kill the vibe by spending the entire show recording with their mobile phones or, worse, their iPads. While we don’t disagree entirely with the rage against those addicted to their screens, we would like to thank those brave souls who sacrifice the experience of living in the moment in order to capture these moments for posterity, especially when said moments result in once-in-a-lifetime fails. So, won’t you join us and salute these amateur videographers without whose dedication we would never have been able to see this grainy footage of superstar musicians like Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, Metallica’s Jason Newsted, Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler hilariously wiping out on stage for all our enjoyment? (Oh, PS: We turned all of these fails into GIFs for your enjoyment. You’re welcome!) Read more…
Seems like everywhere you turn these days, somebody is twerking. The term has been around for darn near 20 years, but thanks to some recent high profile stories regarding the still scandalous form of booty-shaking, twerking has officially entered the zeitgeist. Miley Cyrus is twerking, Nicki Minaj is twerking, tens of thousands of people on Vine are twerking — heck, your grandma might even be twerking!
When Kelly Rowland released her single “Dirty Laundry” in May, fans praised the R&B star for tackling a very dark period in her life. Now the former Destiny’s Child member has dropped the video for the track.
The retro junkie in us loves all the nostalgia-y acts performing this summer: Guns ‘N Roses at the Governor’s Ball; Boys II Men, New Kids On the Block, and 98 Degrees on The Package Tour. Which got us thinking, what other bands do we wish would get back together — if only for one perfect night? From The Fugees to Motley Crue, here’s our wish list.
Kelly Rowland took a giant career risk by openly discussing the jealousy she’s felt towards Beyoncé in her new song, “Dirty Laundry.” Fortunately, her emotional and honest confession has been incredibly well-received by music lovers everywhere, and one could make the argument that in the weeks leading up to the release of her fourth studio album as a solo artist, Talk A Good Game, she’s never been better positioned to experience commercial success. Despite her recent success, though, it’s pretty apparent that Rowland is still in the midst of working through some serious emotions.
If the word on the street is to be believed, Kelly Rowland will be the new judge on the television music competition show X Factor in the U.S. replacing Britney Spears, who left the show after one highly awkward season.
