Here on VH1 Tuner, we’ve been supplying you with music to whet the Cuffin’ Season appetite all week long. To bring you up to speed, we’ve already covered the following bases:

MONDAY: Let My Love Adorn You: Scooping A Hopeless Romantic
TUESDAY: I Wanna Be Down: Reeling-In A Distracted Workaholic
WEDNESDAY: Doin’ It Well: Bagging The No-Holds-Barred Freak
THURSDAY: We Belong Together: Pulling A (They’re Already Taken) Robbery

Let’s face it: some people just don’t want to be in a relationship. Speculating on why your crush may want to fly solo can keep you up at night, so instead of driving your ego into a tizzy, let today’s playlist soften the blow and remind you that you’re not alone.

Morrissey Puts On A Cat Hat, And Our Other 5 Favorite PETA Campaigns Featuring Musicians

Excuse us, Morrissey, but it looks like you’ve got a little something stuck up there…

Former The Smith‘s singer Morrissey donned a feline in hopes of helping to curb animal over-population. In an accompanying statement he explains that, “Despite the fact that they’re incredibly intelligent, animals unfortunately haven’t yet worked out how to slip on a rubber,” and that over-breeding leads to too-full shelters. “Please do the right thing,” the vegan and animal rights activist begs, encouraging pet owners to spay or neuter their animals while a real, live cat sits atop his head. The whole thing’s a little confounding and pretty silly, but it did get our attention just as a good ad should.

Controversial as the PETA may be, we can’t help but love their ads, Morrissey’s being only the most recent. Click through to see our five favorites that feature musicians:

12 Days Of DIVAS: Jessica Simpson, Gladys Knight and Joss Stone Harness The Power Of Imagination

One more night of sleep until VH1 DIVAS Celebrates Soul airs on VH1 on Monday, December 19 at 9 p.m. ET/PT! The show will feature performances by Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Hudson, Florence + The Machine, Kelly Clarkson, Jessie J and other lovely ladies.

For the past 12 days, we’ve been reliving DIVAS past in order to get into the DIVAS spirit, including hot numbers from Jill Scott, Whitney Houston, Donna Summer (twice!), Mariah Carey and more. So now that it’s the final day of our DIVAS countdown, it’s time for one last trip down memory lane, courtesy of Jessica Simpson, Gladys Knight and Joss Stone. Back in 2004, they performed the stone classic “I’ve Got To Use My Imagination”, and the three women are radiant, powerful and fierce as they sing the independent woman anthem. There’s a generous helping of soul and funk as the women harmonize to the sounds of a live band — these are three beautiful women you probably wouldn’t want to mess with!

VH1 DIVAS Celebrates Soul will premiere exclusively on VH1 on Monday, December 19, 2011, at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT.

VH1 DIVAS Celebrates Soul, is edging closer still, and we’ve entered the final countdown to the event with only one week to go! Set to air on VH1 on Monday, December 19 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, we’re looking forward to performances by Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Hudson, Florence + The Machine, Kelly Clarkson, Jessie J and other lovely ladies. Because we can barely wait to see our divas in action, we’ve starting pulling past divas out of the archive, including Jill Scott, Beyoncé, Gladys Knight, Whitney Houston and Donna Summer.

Today, for the 6th Day of DIVAS, we’re asking what’s better than a trip down memory lane with one diva? A trip with two, of course! We’ve got Gladys Knight performing “I Don’t Want To Do Wrong” with Joss Stone. While Stone appears in reverential awe of the veteran Knight on stage, the young performer holds her own with her sexy, gravelly vocal performance. Knight, of course, will make your heart skip a beat with her huge, soulful voice. And the two together? Think spine-tingling sensations and an irrepressible desire to hit repeat.

Tuned In: Joss Stone And Dave Stewart Bring “Karma” Blues To Leno

Joss Stone‘s website proclaims that her forthcoming LP1 is “the first album Joss has recorded with total creative freedom.” Her fans needn’t worry, though; Stone’s newfound freedom is directed into another album of blues-rock soul, if last night’s performance of “Karma” on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno is any indication. She was joined by Eurythmics cofounder Dave Stewart, who co-produced LP1 and who, with Stone, comprises 40% of Mick Jagger‘s supergroup SuperHeavy.

“Karma” is the latest entry in the long and proud tradition of female vocalists’ wronged-lover songs, though despite Stone’s soul chops, it’s guitar-heavy and horn-free. Perhaps it’s more inspired by country’s takes on the theme, albeit with much less anger than, say, Carrie Underwood‘s “Before He Cheats” or Miranda Lambert‘s “Gunpowder and Lead.” LP1 was, after all, recorded in Nashville. Stone’s narrator does wield a loaded gun, though, so who knows?

Joss Stone Allegedly Targeted In Manchester Duo’s Bizarre Robbery And Murder Plot

Police responding to a call about two men “acting suspiciously in a red Fiat Punto” yesterday morning in Cullompton, a town in Devon, England, found the duo equipped with swords, rope, a body bag, and detailed maps and aerial photos of the nearby property of singer Joss Stone, The Sun reports.

The two men had driven over two hundred miles south from the Manchester area to reach their destination but were spotted slowly driving up and down the lanes in the posh rural area where Stone lives. The singer is estimated to be worth $15 million, but police would not confirm to The Guardian that the plot targeted her in particular, though they did offer assurances that a score of police in both Devon and Manchester were on the case.

Celebrating MLK’s Dream

John Legend
Lots of prep work has gone into the solidification of the Martin Luther King, Jr National Memorial on the Mall in Washington, DC. All that’s needed is a final chunk of change to help get the whole thing built. When it’s complete, a tribute to the great man’s ideas regarding equality and peace will be closely situated to those praising other American thinkers, such as Lincoln and Jefferson.

An array of performers have bonded together to help secure these project funds – The Dream Concert is a superstar deal that takes place in New York on Tuesday, September 18. Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Carlos Santana, Ludacris, John Legend, Babyface, Usher, Garth Brooks, Wycliffe Jean, Joss Stone, Talib Kweli, Robin Thicke, Whoopi Goldberg, Magic Johnson, and several others will take the stage for the cause.

Check back on Wednesday. We’ll have some post-show pics for you. Which artist would you most like to see yourself? Hit “Comments.”
