Britney Spears Leads Forbes’ Highest Paid Women In Music List

“All you [chicks] is my sons,” is what Britney Spears is somewhere rapping in a mirror after topping Forbes‘ top earning women in music list. Britney indeed made a comeback–a $58 million dollar one. The bulk of the pop singer’s $58 million earning can be attributed to her latest album, Femme Fatale, and its tour. Her fortune increased with endorsements and her fragrance line with Elizabeth Arden. After a rough patch of misfortunes it’s good to see Brit back on top. Read more…

This Extended Cut Of Katy Perry’s “The One That Got Away” Video Should Hold You Over

Having survived nearly two years of nonstop promo for Teenage Dream — an album that just kept giving, more hits and videos and tour dates — and a fall busy with do-gooding, we understand that Katy Perry has hard earned the low-profile she’s keeping these days. But the rabid Katycat residing inside us less so, and so we are pleased to find an extended cut of her video for “The One That Got Away” (originally shown exclusively at a My Week With Marilyn advanced screening, for some reason) has found its way online to fill the void she’s created with her absence.

Directed by Floria Sigismondi, this seven-minute cut goes deeper into “Sad Katy” than the original cut could in five, as well as some Stevie Nicks Old (but still hot) Woman Perry voice-overs, a pair of American flag pants and even more dreamy moments with Diego “The One That Got Away” Luna. It’s not the new Katy we were hoping for, but it’s more Katy, and while she rests up and gears up for whatever is next, it’ll more than do. But we have to ask, is there no extended cut of the “California Gurls” video in that candy-colored vault?

VH1 Exclusive: Who Is Midian And Why Is She “Bitter?”

You’ll want to know, “Who’s this Midian chick?” after watching the VH1 premiere of the video to her debut single “Bitter.” Her chilling voice is soulful to its core. Vocally she’s a mix between Adele and Christina Aguilera. Those are not comparisons of her artistry as it’s much too early in her career for that. In what may be her breakout song, the R&B singer/songwriter pours her transparency over the soft piano keys and drum beat. “You don’t know how I feel when I see you out with your new girl/And knowing that you don’t love me anymore makes me so bitter.” Vulnerability is a gamble. No one wants to to admit to the feeling of bitterness after a failed relationship, especially when the ex has moved on. But vulnerability can also be relatable. Read more…

Rihanna’s Unapologetic And Nicki Minaj’s The Re-Up Hit Shelves Today, But We Want To Know: Are They Beefing?

Unapologetic and The Re-Up Hit Shelves Today, But Are Rihanna And Nicki Beefing?

How ironic. Today is the release of Nicki Minaj‘s The Re-Up and Rihanna‘s Unapologetic. It’s not the first time the two pop stars have found themselves unintentionally gunning for the same trophy. At September’s VMAs Nicki won over Rih for Best Female Video to which Rih Rih sat by idly without offering one single hand clap. But Rihanna took home the biggest award of the night winning the VMA for “We Found Love.” But where was their camaraderie? Read more…

Katy Perry Rocks Another Obama Inspired Dress While Performing “Part Of Me”

Katy Perry isn’t done repping for President Obama just yet; and she takes her support for the reelection of the president seriously. How serious? Well, she wore a ballot dress for Obama’s campaign rally in Nevada. And like her wardrobe selection in Nevada, Perry showed up with a rather tight fitting (not that we’re complaining) Obama inspired blue dress for her performance at a free show in Milwaukee. Guess it’s safe to say we know who Katy Perry will not be voting for. Read more…

President Obama Ends Campaign With Jay-Z And Bruce Springsteen

Jay-Z and Bruce Springsteen to perform for Obama's last campaign

There’s four days left to Election Day 2012, folks. Don’t forget to vote! It’s been a long election road for presidential nominee Mitt Romney and President Obama, now its ending with a bang for at least Obama. The president will wrap his campaign with performances by Bruce Springsteen and Jay-Z in Columbus, Ohio, on Monday. Hov plus Bruce plus Obama sounds pretty epic. President Obama chose to end his campaign in Des Moines, Iowa, which is symbolic because of his win there in the 2008 caucus. Read more…

What’s Up With Katy Perry’s Ballot Dress, And Did We Mention Republican Kelly Clarkson Is Voting For Obama?

Katy Perry was a show stopper last night. And not because of her performance. The celebrity endorsements for the presidential election are rolling in with the election only weeks away. President Obama has racked up his share of artist/celebrity endorsements including staunch supporter, Katy Perry. Perry showed her support by performing hits like “Teenage Dream,” “Part of Me” and “Wide Awake” at the president’s rally in Las Vegas last night. The president shouted out the pop singer and her grandmother who is a long term resident of Nevada. What an early birthday gift for Ms. Perry who turns 28 today. She tweeted, “So tonight was a great night! The PRESIDENT gave grandma and I unforgettable shout outs & now I am officially 28! Best. birthday. ever.” Read more…
