Ke$ha Gives “Many F***s” About Her New Album

It’s been two years now that we’ve been brushing our teeth with a bottle of Jack and slathering on glitter each morning, because waking up feeling like Ke$ha sounds at least as much fun as waking up feeling like Diddy. 2010′s platinum Animal LP, and the same year’s Cannibal EP, have so far assured a steady drip of half-rapped and crass to pop radio. As sure as we are that we’ll listen “We R Who We R” until the end days, we are eager also to see what more the shock-pop queen’s got.

There have been whispers about a new album, but save for that snippet Dr. Luke leaked about sexy-time with the supernatural and something about a new genre called c*ck pop is about all she’s afforded the subject. Until now: In an interview in the new issue of Rolling Stone, the wild star talks at length about the project, and promises that, “about 90 percent of the time, I don’t give a f*ck. But I give so many f*cks about this album.”

So there will be no messing with that spirit of hers. Instead, it sounds like she plans to employ her wonderfully unhinged energy for the better. “I said ‘Let’s leave the tricks to a minimum and let me wail,’” she said. “I want it to be a mix of what works on the radio and what I listen to in my spare time,” she added, citing a “steady diet of T. Rex and Iggy Pop.” Fellow weirdo Wayne Coyne might make an appearance, as could The Black Keys‘ drummer Patrick Carney; and according to Rolling Stone‘s report, the 17 songs she’s started work on are “all stomping, ultracatchy dance tracks.” And unlike her records past, things could might deep this time around. “The first two records talked more about partying, which is a great, magical part of life. But some songs on the new record are more personal and vulnerable,” she said. More personal than her illicit morning routine? Until the album’s release, set tentatively for later this year, we can only hope.

Ke$ha Has Created Her Own Music Genre But Be Warned, It’s NSFW

Leave it to Ke$ha to declare that she’s invented a new genre of music called “C*ck Pop”. She doesn’t even have one of those, but it looks like that’s what her style is regardless, although we’re not entirely sure what it means. Music that comes out of a man’s genitalia? Or music as, er… played by a man’s genitalia? We’re very sorry for the disturbing mental imagery you might be getting right now, but Ke$ha said it, not us! Ke$ha Tweeted about the new genre regarding a collaboration with Dr. Luke and Benny Benassi, which we’re guessing is going to be something of a club anthem, and we’re intrigued by the anatomy of it all…

Last Lap: Simon Cowell’s Latest Talent Show Will Find The World’s Best DJ

Simon Cowell’s Latest Talent Show Will Find The World’s Best DJ
Simon Cowell (and Overbrook Entertainment, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith‘s company) is preparing to launch a new reality show to search for the world’s best DJ. Cowell says, “DJs are the new rock stars, it feels like the right time to make this show.” What with all the club led anthems of 2011, we’re thinking Cowell might be hitting the doof-doof nail on the turntable. 5 Imagined Scenes From The Forthcoming Ke$ha Documentary

While Ke$ha doesn’t like unauthorized documentaries being made of her life, she’s now hinting, via Twitter, that there might be an official one in the works:

While we’re sure Ke$ha’s wild life will have plenty of juicy action to make for a thrilling documentary, we’ve got a few little fantasies of our own. Based on what we know of Ke$ha’s life, career, likes and dislikes and high powered friends, we’ve fictionalized 5 scenes we’d like to see in the final cut:

1. A 24 themed title sequence set to “Tik Tok”
“Hi, I’m Ke$ha, and this is the longest day of my life.” Cue frenetic, fit-inducing paced montage of images of Ke$ha, on stage, tongue out, crowd surfing, doing make up, in the studio, hugging Britney etc. Set it to the sound of “Tik Tok,” and finish with the word “Ke$ha” spelled out in the font style of a digital clock, and let the letters tick over into the time. Cut to a scene of Ke$ha waking up — obviously our imagined documentary revolves around a day in the life of Ke$ha.

Listen To Katy Perry’s Country Turn In A Leaked Demo For “Bullet”
If you’ve ever wondered what Katy Perry would sound like doing country, then here you go; a demo has leaked of Katy Perry singing a song called “Bullet” she co-wrote for country star Jesse James‘ debut album in 2009. We hope Katy sticks to her pop roots, but we’re sort of loving this little lick of country. [Neon Limelight]

Rihanna Is Called Out For “Ripping Off” Photographer
The latest in A Big Celebrity Copied Me, Rihanna is being accused by blogger Bryan Derballa of “ripping off” the work of photographer Sandy Kim in her video for “We Found Love.” We see some similarities, but we’d only go as far to say “inspired by” and even then it’s tenuous, with so much recent “hipster” photography tending towards the aesthetic that “We Found Love” is going for. Shearer’s Spotlight: Jim’s Favorite Singles Of 2011

Each week here on VH1 Tuner, our VH1 Top 20 Video Countdown host Jim Shearer (@jimshearer on Twitter) will be sharing his Shearer’s Spotlight with us. Be sure to tune into the Top 20 Countdown tomorrow morning when it airs on VH1 at 9 a.m. ET/PT.

Because December is a month full of year-end lists, for your blog-viewing pleasure, today I give you my favorite singles of 2011:

10.) “Blow,” Ke$ha
Yes, this single was featured on Ke$ha’s 2010 mini-LP, Cannibal, but the track didn’t fully explode (or blow-ow-ow) until the beginning of this year. Because “Blow” stayed away from Ke$ha’s polarizing sing-annunciate-rap formula, it became her first single that I couldn’t stop listening to.

9.) “Michael Jackson,” Das Racist
For some reason, underground/indie-minded hip-hoppers tend to shy away from slick production and repetitive hooks, but on “Michael Jackson” Das Racist embrace these elements with fantastic results.

8.) “Lonely Boy,” The Black Keys
Dan and Pat of The Black Keys add bass and keys to their two-man sound, creating one of the most fun rock tracks of the year (which will surely still be in heavy rotation come 2012).

VMA Rumors: Britney Tribute To Feature Katy Perry, Ke$ha, And…Janet Jackson?

This morning’s announcement of Lady Gaga as a performer at this year’s Video Music Awards is the latest sort-of confirmation of a big VMA rumor that’s been going around since reality-TV production coordinator Johnathan Woodbeck tweeted it the day after the Britney Spears VMA promo, above, premiered. According to Woodbeck’s tweet, the show will contain a star-studded tribute medley with one song from each of Britney’s albums, followed by the presentation of a Lifetime Achievement Award (presumably the Video Vanguard Award?) by none other than Madonna. The rumored performance lineup (via Lainey Gossip):
