Beyoncé has been in seven feature films to date. Did you remember that The Pink Panther, opposite Steve Martin, was one of them? At least tell me that you recall “Check On It,” a modern day classic featured on the film’s soundtrack? (And if you don’t agree, then who are you?)
It’s another day and the #SolangeGate continues to unfold in unexpected ways. The latest is news that Solange Knowles and Jay Z recently went jewelry shopping in New York City. The news came just a day after video of the singer hitting the rapper leaked to the internet. Apparently it was a seemingly carefully orchestrated PR move that never even happened. Greg Yuna, the owner of the jewelry store, debunked the rumors on The Wendy Williams Show. But that’s not the only crazy development.
The Carter-Knowles clan has always been in the spotlight, but yesterday’s shocking reveal nearly broke the internet. In video obtained by TMZ, Solange is seen going off on her sister’s husband, Jay Z, in the elevator of a Met Gala after party (while Beyoncé stands to the side). We all have occasional familial dysfunction, but the idea that a group generally considered to be perfect, invincible and ***flawless could experience something that intense upended our week and crushed any belief system we had in place. Why, Solange? What did Jay Z say?! Why so still, Bey?!?
Is there some serious discord within the Carter-Knowles clan? Judging by a damning surveillance video, that could very well be the case. According to a report, Solange Knowles, also known as Beyonce‘s younger sister, was allegedly caught on tape trying beat down her brother-in-law, Jay Z.

Beyonce, Rihanna, and even Fergie have all appeared in performances and music videos looking like they lost track of time and forgot to finish doing their hair. Don’t hate, folks: THEY WOKE UP LIKE THIS! And they still look just as fabulous as ever. These influential ladies of pop prove that they can roll out of bed and still look red-carpet ready!
There is no more dominant couple in music—let alone pop culture—than Jay Z and Beyonce. The two separately have topped the charts with hit after hit and surprise album after surprise album, but together they make magic. While they never have truly recorded a duet, the two have collaborated a number of times—lending backing vocals and 16 bars to each other’s songs. Among them, “Crazy In Love,” “Drunk In Love,” and “03′ Bonnie & Clyde.” With the news that the two are planning to embark on their first official tour together, we can’t help but review all their best musical moments.
As Mariah Carey has experienced delays with her upcoming album, the singer and her camp hinted at a surprise release, similar to Beyonce’s unbelievably successful LP from late 2013. It now appears that Mimi will end up going with a traditional rollout after all, but we’re still waiting to see which other music stars can make waves like Bey did when she dropped her album without warning.
Whether inanimate objects, national landmarks, or pretty much any food item in general, artists sure do love using their witty ways to talk about sex. See, they try to hide the meanings of these songs – but we just couldn’t help but cracking their code! Plus, most are blatantly obvious (hint: any long and hard object is most likely referring to a guy’s…..get it? Good.)
Nick Lachey gives his take on some recent band beef, Victoria Beckham chills with the Spice Girls, and a hip-hop legend passes away.
Beyoncé does not take her influence lightly. As one of the most influential people in the world, she understands the impact her work can have on fans and is using this power for good. “Pretty Hurts,” the opening track from her 2013 album, is not just a ballad perfect for an emotional night of karaoke, but commentary on our obsession with perfection. The official video places Bey in a beauty pageant, where she and other contestants struggle to reach the unattainable goals pageant bosses, Harvey Keitel and society have set for them. VH1 has an exclusive look at the making of the video, including thoughts from Miss 3rd Ward herself. “I wanted to tap into the world of competition,” Beyoncé says. “Some of the things young women go through are just really heartbreaking for me.”
