For every Michael, Beyoncé and Usher, there’s a Christina, Mariah or Rihanna. Try as they might, the latter group of hot pop acts just can’t coordinate that whole singing-while-dancing thing. Their beats and belting may be tight on the radio, but when it comes to rocking dance moves in a music video, even some of the best sirens fall flat. For your amusement, check out these hilarious GIFs (you’re welcome) of crooners we adore who demonstrate some of the worst rump shaking we’ve ever seen. Debate our list in the comments below and, more importantly, let us know whose lack of rhythm we failed to catch.
Mariah Carey - “Shake It Off”
Moroccan and Monroe weren’t even zygotes yet, but Mariah looks like she was practicing serious mom moves in this video. Luckily, Mimi’s vocal acrobatics helped us shake off the memory of her awful wannabe thug life bleacher rocking, so all is forgiven.
In the 13 years since her debut, Mandy Moore has taken up acting, gotten married, and — so it seems, with the good influence of her singing/songwriting hubby — grown out of her pop princess days and into a more mature sound. Moore has revealed that she’s at work on the follow-up to 2009′s Amanda Leigh, and that she’s getting help from her Ryan Adams for this next round. As she tells CBS News, the two have “been writing a little bit together” and Adams “has a studio, so I definitely want to make my record there.” The collaboration is more than one of just convenience, though, as Moore also credits Adams with broadening her musical horizons. “There’s tremendous influence right now around the house — from music I’ve been introduced to, and being very happy and in a healthy, happy relationship,” she said. “I think that still garners a lot of material to write about.” Aww! Fueled by more than just the sugary sweet calories of “Candy,” this love-felt return will be something to watch for.
Long gone are the days everyone waited for an official statement from celebrities’ publicists. With social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook, celebrities can use 140 characters to instantly send a message for anyone to see. Today, the death of Adam “MCA” Yauch of the Beastie Boys is a tremendous loss to music. With the impact MCA made in music, it was inevitable celebrities would tweet their condolences as they, too, mourn with the rest of the world. Celebrities who honored Yauch via Twitter ran the gamut of everyone from Jonah Hill to Q-Tip to Cypress Hill. Judging by his peers, MCA was a well respected musician, father, husband and human being. We’re happy these stars decided to share.

Beach Blanket Bingo, 6:30 a.m. (EST), ELOV: Cast your mind back to a simpler time — Britney had hair, Kanye had an appropriately sized ego, and there wasn’t even a show called Flavor of Love. Now subtract forty years, and you’re in the right era for this delightful relic of singing cinema — a bike gang kidnaps a matinee idol, and sky-diving surfers are involved. With Annette Funicello, Frankie Avalon, and Brian Wilson before he lost it.
Chasing Liberty, 8:00 p.m. (EST), FAM: Now here’s a double bill you don’t see every day: Mandy “I’m not a teen pop star any” Moore with Philly hip hop outfit the Roots. Works though, in this love-on-the-run teen vehicle that features Mandums as the frustrated First Daughter, and the Roots live in concert.
