That Metal Debate: Top 5 Michael Schenker Albums

This week on That Metal Show, TMS alum Frank Hannon (Tesla) returned to shred as our guest musician. Joining the boys on set were Michael Schenker, of UFO and MSG fame (and, in case you didn’t know, Eddie Trunk’s idol), and Mike McCready (Pearl Jam). Since Schenker has been playing music for the last 40 years, we thought we would dedicate this week’s TMS TOP 5 to him, and come up with a list of The Top 5 Albums that Michael Schenker has played on. Here it is, this week’s THAT METAL DEBATE.

Eddie, Don, and Jim each listed UFO’s Strangers In The Night on their Top 5 lists, so it was unanimous when deciding it was worthy of a Top 5 position. Though deciding how far up on the list is a different discussion as Eddie argued that the Scorpions Lonesome Crow wasn’t Schenker’s best album due to him only being 17 years old when it was recorded. As much we all love that album by the Scorpions, can you say that it is Schenker’s best work? What about UFO’s Obsession or Force it? With Schenker making music for over 40 years it’s a tough list to put together. After much debate and Eddie physically taking Lonesome Crow off the list (and throwing it into the crowd), the guys finally decided on their Top 5 Michael Schenker albums.

That Metal Debate: That Metal Show‘s Top 5 Best Albums of This Century

This week on That Metal Show, we were joined by Lemmy (Motörhead), Jerry Dixon and Robert Mason (Warrant), and Michael Schenker, who rocked out as our guest musician for the second week in a row. For our TMS Top 5 segment we decided to have the hosts come up with the Top 5 Albums of this century. There aren’t THAT many bands out there, so it shouldn’t be so hard, right? Let’s get started.

How do you choose from Tesla’s album; Into the Now (with the original band, mind you), Buckcherry’s comeback record; 15, Accept’s; Blood of The Nations, which ended up on both Eddie and Don’s list, it’s a tough choice. You also have the underrated band like Hatebreed, who released Perseverance back in 2002 and The Blackening by Machine Head who is Jim’s “modern day Master of Puppets” (Metallica). Which, of course, is debatable. So, what ended up on the list? We’ve got it for you below.

That Metal Debate: That Metal Show‘s Top 5 Iron Maiden Albums

Let’s get right to it. This week on That Metal Show, we were joined by Michael Schenker (who rocked out on the guitar for us) and Adrian Smith from Iron Maiden. Because the guys are HUGE Maiden fans, we thought we would make it easy for them and have them decide of the Top 5 Iron Maiden Albums.

There’s a lot of great Maiden music with a lot of great eras and decades, so it was unanimous when deciding Killers and their self titled album, Iron Maiden to go on the list. Just deciding the rest of the albums and in what order was the toughest, but we did it, and here is the list of The TMS Top 5 Iron Maiden albums.
