Okay, so you’ve sort of slept through this season of American Idol. It’s not a big deal. I mean, most people didn’t tune in this year. However, tonight is the finale and we have two very insanely compelling reasons for you to tune in tonight: Candice Glover and Kree Harrison.
That’s right. This year’s finalists are two of the biggest vocal powerhouses the show has ever had. Confused? Unsure? Have a lot of questions? Don’t worry we’ve got all the answers for why tonight’s final live performance show is one you absolutely cannot miss.
The theme of last night’s Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala’s annual ball was “Punk: Chaos To Couture,” so it only made sense to invite a number of musicians to the soiree. Aside from perhaps Blondie, though, there were no actual punk musicians to be found on Anna Wintour‘s guest list, but that doesn’t mean that there wasn’t plenty to look at. From Madonna (who wore a cross dangerously close to her bottom!) to Beyoncé (looking extra curvy, wink wink), from Nicki Minaj to Miley Cyrus (the latter of whom REALLY bought into the night’s theme), most of today’s A-List musicians strode the carpet. But, we have to ask, who wore it best?
Which pop diva is going to be the godmother of Elton John‘s new baby? Who is Nicki Minaj teaming up with now? All this, plus an interesting take on fun.‘s “Some Nights” courtesy Michael Buble, Amy Poehler and Jimmy Fallon.
The girls were on full display last night on American Idol–and we’re not just talking about how the Top 5 this year is all female. Judge Nicki Minaj looked stunning in a tight red dress and stunned some people in our own offices by how crazy risque the look was. While Minaj undoubtedly looked gorgeous, radiant and divine, but should she have chosen such a boob-iful dress for what’s widely considered one of the most family friendly shows on television?
This season of American Idol might be one of the tightest competitions in Idol history. Last night, Amber Holcomb sizzled while singing a classic Barbra Streisand song, Kree Harrison soared on a Celine Dion ballad, Candice Glover brought a literal new spin to a Paula Abdul dance track, and Janelle Arthur fumbled slightly on some country standards. However, the moment of the night was probably when Angie Miller dedicated her first song of the night, The Pretenders‘s “I’ll Stand By You,” to her hometown of Boston.
We were lucky enough to spend the weekend at the Napa Valley, CA festival Live In The Vineyard. Of course it wouldn’t be a festival, or Napa, if we didn’t try a little wine while rocking out to acts like Goo Goo Dolls, Tegan and Sara and New Kids On The Block. We didn’t bring back any to share with everyone, but here are five fine wines we tasted that reminded us of artists who also regularly intoxicate us. Read more…
Last week, music video director Benny Boom teased the world by insinuating that Nicki Minaj suffered a double nip slip in her new video for “High School.” While only Benny and the union crew members on set will ever know for sure whether that double nip slip actually happened or if it was just a tall tale concocted to get people excited for the video, we can confirm that after seeing the video today, Nicki does, in fact, look more beautiful than ever in it. Throughout the course of the video’s four minute and four second run time, Nicki Minaj manages to wear nine different outfits (!!!) — including one that can best be described as her birthday suit. Review them all below and be sure to vote on which one is your favorite!
Nicki Minaj risks wardrobe malfunctions all the time with her crazy costumes and and outrageous outfits! Nip slips do indeed happen (remember her ill-fated GMA performance back in 2011?) but she was double the trouble on the set of her new video “High School.”
