The theme of last night’s Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala’s annual ball was “Punk: Chaos To Couture,” so it only made sense to invite a number of musicians to the soiree. Aside from perhaps Blondie, though, there were no actual punk musicians to be found on Anna Wintour‘s guest list, but that doesn’t mean that there wasn’t plenty to look at. From Madonna (who wore a cross dangerously close to her bottom!) to Beyoncé (looking extra curvy, wink wink), from Nicki Minaj to Miley Cyrus (the latter of whom REALLY bought into the night’s theme), most of today’s A-List musicians strode the carpet. This season of American Idol might be one of the tightest competitions in Idol history. Last night, Amber Holcomb sizzled while singing a classic Barbra Streisand song, Kree Harrison soared on a Celine Dion ballad, Candice Glover brought a literal new spin to a Paula Abdul dance track, and Janelle Arthur fumbled slightly on some country standards. However, the moment of the night was probably when Angie Miller dedicated her first song of the night, The Pretenders‘s “I’ll Stand By You,” to her hometown of Boston.

Last week, music video director Benny Boom teased the world by insinuating that Nicki Minaj suffered a double nip slip in her new video for “High School.” While only Benny and the union crew members on set will ever know for sure whether that double nip slip actually happened or if it was just a tall tale concocted to get people excited for the video, we can confirm that after seeing the video today, Nicki does, in fact, look more beautiful than ever in it. Throughout the course of the video’s four minute and four second run time, Nicki Minaj manages to wear nine different outfits (!!!) — including one that can best be described as her birthday suit.
