Nicki Minaj‘s overtly sexual “Anaconda” art cover sparked initial shock but quickly blew over once people realized seeing a person’s butt wasn’t anything new. The same goes for rockers dressing in drag, singers getting caught lip syncing and the occasional sex tape scandal. Is it sad to say that in 2014, controversy is not as controversial anymore? If anyone knows what it’s like to attract hate, its musicians. For as much adoration as they receive, there’s a pretty high volume of people looking to tear them down. But the great thing about having music at your disposal is you can release an anti-hate track and have it bounce to number one, putting down the detractors and giving sage advice to us regular people dealing with our own beefs. Taylor Swift is the most recent to jump aboard the anti-hater train with her track “Shake It Off”, but everyone from Beyonce to 50 Cent has a song to sing for the haters.

REVIEW: Eminem + Rihanna Fire Off Monster Hits On Monster Tour

We’ll admit it: we were a little skeptical when The Monster Tour was first announced. Sure, Eminem and Rihanna made passionate musical fire on 2010′s “Love The Way You Lie” and last year’s “The Monster.” But did they have enough in common to sustain a full collaborative tour? Slim Shady’s aggressively animated raps and Riri’s coolly detached pop/R&B club hits just didn’t seem very cohesive on paper. Yet once they took to the stage at New Jersey’s Metlife Stadium on Saturday, the combination sparked middle finger-raising magic as fans rocked to a monster sized 50-song set list.
