Friday Face-Off: Britney Spears vs. Kanye West

This week’s Friday Face-Off is between Kanye West and Britney Spears because they both have futuristic-theme music videos for their respective “Stronger” tracks. Plus, when you think about it, aren’t Britney and Kanye are basically the same person? Hear me out before deafening me with a chorus of “haah?!” and pelting me with Team Britney, B**** T-Shirts. Both are one-name-recognizable lightening rods for controversy, and despite head-shaving, crotch flashing (yes, both) and speaking before thinking too many times to count, they’ve remained musical juggernauts. Mind explosion, right? Now you tell us whose “Stronger” dominates.

Will Britney’s chair dancing or Kanye’s anime mini-movie win out? Vote after the jump!

Watch Britney Spears Forget How To Pronounce “Ke$ha” On The X Factor

Oh, poor Britney Spears still seems to be working out some of the rust after a few years out of the public eye. She’s done The X Factor pretty solid as a judge so far, but last night while attempting to lay praise on contestant CeCe Frey by comparing her to certain glittery pop star, she slipped: “Last night, I thought you had, like, an identity crisis, I felt like you were trying to be” — and then, at the third “like” it happened — “like Key-sha or something.” Ke$ha you mean? Oops!

Of course, it was an honest mistake. Dollar sign laden or otherwise, Kesha is not exactly a common name, and that Britney is probably not trying to live like she’s going to die young now that she has kids and all. But don’t these two know each other? Ke$ha proudly teamed up with pop savants Dr. Luke and Max Martin to write “Till the World Ends,” a song that really helped shake new life into Brit’s career, before taking her own turn on the remix. Should her fellow judges Simon (Simone?) and Demi (Deh-me) be concerned that — oops! — she might do it again? Or should we all just sit back and chuckle because, really, Ke$ha’s a famously good sport and Brit’s mispronunciation is kind of cute?

Will Britney Spears Be Able To Sneak Any Cigarettes During X Factor Commercial Breaks Tonight?

Britney Spears Smoking X Factor

It’s been 5 years, 1 month and 26 days since the last time Britney Spears last appeared for an extended period of time on live television. That occasion? Her infamous, zombified, bewigged performance of “Gimme More” at the 2007 Video Music Awards, an event that forever altered Britney’s reputation (and one, some would argue, that she never really recovered from).

In the five-plus years that have elapsed since that night, Britney has appeared on TV a handful of times (a VMA acceptance speech here and there, pre-taped segments of X Factor), but those events have always unfolded in a highly-controlled and scripted manner. Tonight marks her official return to the pressure-packed world of live television, and millions will be tuning into the X Factor on Fox tonight to see how she holds up under the spotlight. Britney admitted to Extra that she’s “a little nervous,” and it turns out her producers are, too, but not for the reasons you might think.

Highest Paid Women In Entertainment Forbes

Well, well, well. Singers are making big moves–and by big we mean topping Forbes annual Hollywood’s Highest-Paid Women list. Pop (and country) divas Britney Spears, Taylor Swift and Rihanna trailed behind Oprah in the second, third and fourth highest paid spots respectively. Talk about Britney Spears making a comeback pulling in $58 million! The new X-Factor judge didn’t make the list last year, but has since bounced back with numerous endorsement deals and a fragrance line. Read more…

P!NK and Gwen Stefani Perform “I’m Just A Girl,” One Of Many Surprises At iHeartRadio Music Festival

How does one even begin to recap a concert that lasted five and a half hours and featured 10 of the biggest names in music today? The second annual iHeartRadio Music Festival kicked off it’s two-day extravaganza yesterday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and fans weren’t disappointed. Usher, Rihanna, Green Day, No Doubt, and P!NK were just a few of the artist who brought hits, both old and new, to the stage.

The first major surprise of the night belonged to No Doubt.

When we heard from a few insiders that No Doubt would open the show with a little help from our friend and Storytellers subject P!NK, we had no idea how our wildest dream would actually come true. Would P!NK fly through the arena on her magic scarves and join Gwen and the crew for a revamped version of “Don’t Speak” or would she simple walk out on stage during the chorus of “Spiderwebs?” Neither one of those things happened. P!NK actually didn’t join No Doubt until midway through their set.

Who Said It Best: X Factor‘s Britney Spears Vs. The Voice‘s Christina Aguilera

The addition of Britney Spears to The X-Factor judging panel did more than boost ratings for the Simon Cowell-helmed talent show. It reignited one of the greatest pop rivalries of all time: Britney vs. Christina Aguilera. With X-Tina back as a judge on rival hit talent show The Voice, the pop juggernauts are, once again, going head-to-head to see who is the best judge after years of duking it out on the charts.

Of course we’re going to help stir the pot a little by combing through Britney and Christina’s commentary, comebacks and and crazy moments on their respective shows each week to decide who was the better judge. You can join in by voting for who you think was the bigger star, too.
