A Britney Spears And will.i.am Electronics Gift Guide According To The Futuristic Product Placement In Scream & Shout”

Last night’s X-Factor premiered the new Britney Spears/will.i.am video “Scream & Shout” and even though the song’s not festive in any holiday-specific manner, there’s definitely a slew of specifically placed electronics that you might want to add to your Xmas shopping list. Don’t get me wrong, will.i.am’s not shilling any liquor brands, but he does show off a white Maserati and I have a feeling his new signature hat (with the fangs!) will be sold in stores near you. What Will did place throughout the video were shots of pretty cool (and high-tech!) electronics–everything from an iPad typewriter to a bionic hand–stuff that you could buy in stores right alongside stuff that you could only dream of owning.

But let’s say you did let will.i.am (and Brit) choose your gifts this year. What should you be buying?

What: Yep, that’s an iPad plugged into a typewriter, typing out the lyrics to “Scream & Shout” as you gasp in steampunk-ish horror:

Cost: Sorry, you can’t buy one of these just yet. But you can DIY it

will.i.am And Britney Spears “Scream & Shout” Video Was Made To Be GIF’d

It’s all eyes on will.i.am (and will.i.am 2.0, and will.i.am 3.0, and…) and Britney Spears (and Britney 2.0, and Britney 3.0, and…), bitch, who get multiplied many times over in the glitz-ed out new video for “Scream & Shout,” the latest single off the Black Eyed Peas frontman’s upcoming solo album #willpower. The video giddily indulges will.i.am’s future fetish; and much like his album was named to be tweeted, it was made to be .GIF-ed.

For example, the song’s titular command:

Will.I.Am Is Collaborating With Britney Spears, Mick Jagger… And NASA’s Mars Rover!

Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am released the track list for his forthcoming and very au courant album, #willpower. Over the years, will.i.am has worked in some capacity with seemingly everyone, and it looks like he’s cashing in all his favors for this fourth solo album. A newly released track list for this next effort is loaded heavy musical collaborations, all of the following making some sort of appearance: Britney Spears, Ne-Yo, Rihanna, Chris Brown, David Guetta, Eva Simons, Redfoo and Nicole Scherzinger. And were that not enough, Jennifer Lopez, Mick Jagger and Cheryl Cole, too, will be included on the album’s deluxe edition.

The collaboration doesn’t end there, though, and this next one is truly for the history books: NASA announced today that they have teamed up with will.i.am to debut the album’s next single from the surface of Mars. “Reach for the Stars” will be transmitted to Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, tomorrow at 1 PM PT as part of a special educational event that will promote science education by showing-off NASA’s Curiosity rover and its intergalactic findings — this new song apparently. “My song is finally going to be beamed back to earth from MARS,” tweeted will.i.am yesterday, excitedly because finally. Mars! Read more…

Will.I.Am Says LMFAO Will Join Madonna’s Super Bowl Performance

It’s on — with the Super Bowl looming ever closer, everyone is talking about that half time show, and what the Queen Of Pop, Madonna, will bring to the stage for the momentous occasion. Never one to do things by halves, suspicions that Madonna’s show will be spectacular are well founded, with reports flooding in that she’ll appear with special guests M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj, and that she’ll be “bringing gay” to the performance. Now, will.i.am has got everyone in a flap by commenting that seizure-dance club kids LMFAO will be joining Madge for the show. In an interview with UK radio station Capital FM, will.i.am said, “I’m going to the Super Bowl this year to see my group LMFAO perform with Madonna. Check that out, will.i.am Music Group is pretty freaking two for two, one year the Super Bowl, the next year another group part of the Super Bowl in collaboration with Madonna. That’s still happening.”

We’re not casting an aspersions on will.i.am’s integrity, but it does seem like a very odd pairing. Yes, “Party Rock Anthem” was a chart topper, but LMFAO’s high energy, doof-blasting dance music doesn’t even come close to being similar with Madonna’s perfectly curated pop sound and image. And from what’s been leaked of MDNA, for instance, the demo to “Gimme All Your Luvin’” it doesn’t seem like Madonna is going down the euro-trance path with her music either. So what would they even play together? Are we looking at a mash-up of the two artists’ music? Or has Madge got something else up her sleeve — a secret collaboration perhaps? And will Nicki and M.I.A still be there? What’s going on? will.i.am has sure ruffled our feathers this morning, and we need answers!

Tuned In: You Already Knew Black Star, And Now They’re Back On Fallon

Finally ready to release a new album after 1998′s Mos Def & Talib Kweli are Black Star, Mos Def (who now goes by Yasiin Bey) and Talib Kweli are back as, you guessed it, Black Star. Backed by The Roots, Black Star performed “You Already Knew” from their Aretha Franklin-inspired mix tape, as well as a song called “Little Brother” (after the jump) on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. Black Star performed “You Already Knew” with a raw, charged emotion, tapping into some of the issues Watch The Throne attempted to tackle with a sincerity and refinement that Hov and Ye didn’t quite pull off. A formidable hip-hop pairing indeed, we’ve been waiting years for the duo’s next album, and we can barely contain our excitement that it’s almost here!
