Rock stars are famous for being a bit… temperamental. Take a huge ego, keep it awake for days out on the road, (maybe) add a few drugs to the mix, and you’ve got a recipe for a verbal explosion loud enough to rock a stadium. All it takes is the tiniest of sparks. Living in the spotlight has got to be pretty stressful, and it’s understandable that these folks crack every now and then. But occasionally their eruptions are pure comedic fury, with unhinged tirades that reach new depths of obscenity and profanity. Head down below to listen to 10 (very NSFW) of our very favorite musician rants and meltdowns. Enjoy!
When thrash titans Metallica took the field at San Francisco’s AT&T Park to play “The Star Spangled Banner” last week, they were but the latest in a long line of high energy decibel dealers putting their rough stamp on our hallowed National Anthem. Ever since Jimi Hendrix serenaded the Woodstock faithful that bleary August morning in 1969 with his electric-fried version of “The Star Spangled Banner,” rockers have been figuring out daring different ways to rock Francis Scott Key’s composition in instrumental form. We now present to you the 10 Most Rocking Versions of The National Anthem. Give us your feedback on vote on where you think they rank and remember to vote early and vote often.
If you were anywhere on the Eastern seaboard in the last hour or so, you no doubt felt the effect of an earthquake that registered 5.9 on the Richter Scale. In order to help you (and us!) calm down on this hectic afternoon, we just created the following playlist of earthquake-themed songs for all you Spotify users out there:
Quakin’ – Songs To Help You Cope With The 2011 New York City Earthquake
(If you’re not on Spotify, this room on Turntable.fm also just cropped up: Earthquake 2K11.)
