CONCERT REVIEW: Fancy Reagan Shows Us They Were The Right Choice For Make A Band Famous

It was only five short months ago that Fancy Reagan won VH1’s Make A Band Famous. These guys charmed our socks off immediately, and it was clear as the competition went on that they were the front-runners.

Deprived of sleep, the 5-piece alternative/pop/rock band took part in our grueling 24-hour contest to see which of the 24 finalists had what it took to sign a deal with Republic Records. After not sleeping for an entire day, the band still rocked it! Now, imagine what they sounded like after getting a good night’s rest!

VH1 Hosts Four Nights Of Live Music For Brooklyn’s Northside Festival

The Northside Festival kicked off in Brooklyn earlier this week covering the best in new Film, Innovation and Music. VH1 and Palladia are teaming up to host four nights of live music for the festival. The first two nights were Thursday and Friday, hosted at Williamsburg’s famous venue The Knitting Factory.  On Thursday there were live performances by rising rock band out of the UK Syd Arthur, plus winning Make A Band Famous act Fancy Reagan and many others. Then on Friday, legendary music producer and new member of the VH1 family Linda Perry curated a special showcase featuring her own favorite emerging artists like Perfect Pussy, Shilpa Ray and more. MABF Winner Fancy Reagan Proves Their Title With An Epic, Awesome Performance

After a long 24 hours of barely any sleep, numerous competitions, hard work, and slight delirium, Fancy Reagan has come out on top as the winners of VH1’s Make A Band Famous! Their celebratory performance truly showcased a star group in the making. We have no doubt that these guys are off to an amazing career -and will give other artists in the game a run for their money.

Make A Band Famous: Jack Antonoff’s Bleachers Blast Brooklyn With Sneaks From Their New Album

Bleachers took to the stage in Brooklyn’s McCarren Park yesterday, brightening up the otherwise gloomy and grey afternoon with an amped up hour-long set! Their long-awaited debut Strange Desire isn’t due to hit shelves until July 15th, but we were treated to a vibrant sneak peek from .fun guitarist Jack Antonoff‘s new musical project. The performance not only helped kick off this year’s Northside Music Festival, but was part of the finale for VH1’s Make A Band Famous!

The Votes Are In, A Star Is Born: Find Out Who Won VH1’s Make A Band Famous!

24 talented bands battled it out for the last 24 hours to earn a shot at music stardom. But now the challenges and voting are over, and we’re thrilled to announce that Fancy Reagan have been crowned the winner of VH1’s Make A Band Famous! The group performed their aptly titled song “Almost Famous” earlier in the competition, and now it’s safe to say they’ve officially arrived. It’s as if they knew it all along! Coming out ahead of over 2,500 applicants, Fancy Reagan have scored a deal with Republic Records and an extended VH1 You Oughta Know campaign. Honestly, we couldn’t be more thrilled for this electrifying band from New York City -even Ariana Grande gave them her Pop Queen Seal of Approval!

Make A Band Famous Finalists Cover Black Crowes, Alanis And More In Toy Instrument Challenge

Make A Band Famous finalists Fancy Reagan perform The Black Crowes‘ “She Talks To Angels” using toy instruments in the Box Of Beats Challenge.

Since last night, musicians have been competing in VH1’s Make A Band Famous to win a recording contract with Republic Records in a series of challenges that pushed them outside their musical comfort zones. One of the coolest competitions so far was the “Box Of Beats Challenge” where the contestants were asked to cover a famous pop hit of yesteryear using only toy instruments and the most basic pieces of percussion. 24 bands started out and now only four are left; Tony Memmel, Malado!, Fancy Reagan and Chris Ayer. We already showed you celebrity judges Natasha Bedingfield, Bonnie McKee and MABF host Tyson Ritter of The All-American Rejects performing Pharrell’s “Happy” and now you can see the Box Of Beat Challenge performances from the final four.
