About The Lumineers

  1. For most of his youth, Wesley Schultz knew Jeremiah Fraites as his good friend's younger brother. But in 2002, when Jeremiah's brother Josh died from a drug overdose, both boys found themselves in mourning, and began writing songs to soften the painful blow. Wesley's guitar and vocals fused well with Jeremiah's percussion abilities, but something was still missing. After picking up and moving to Denver, Colorado, the pair met cellist Neyla Pekarek and formed The Lumineers, an amalgam of heart-swelling stomp-and-clap acoustic rock, classic pop, and front-porch folk.
