Celebrities Who Complained About the Media (That Helps Make Them More Rich and More Famous)

Just saying.

Celebrities who complain about their lifestyles consisting of money and fame make me want to hurt something. You’re millionaires who are adored (for the most part) by the masses, so why you gotta shit on the thing that helped you get there? And calling out the media, which is only helping you get more rich and more famous? Here are times celebs did that exact thing when they were in no position to whatsoever.

  • 1 When Miley Cyrus threw media outlets under the bus to save herself from Nicki Minaj.

At the 2015 VMAs, Nicki called Miley out for her remarks about her in a NY Times interview. Miley responded: “We’re all in this industry, we all do interviews, and we all know how they manipulate.” Yup, those sensationalist hacks at the Times really advance their careers by putting words in people’s mouths.

  • 2 And the time Miley complained about photographers a few years prior.

She was pissed about the paparazzi, saying they “frustrate” her, yet when cameras captured her twerking on Robin Thicke at the VMAs—which, she can thank for her comeback—she was all for that. Smdh.

  • 3 Lindsay Lohan’s passive aggressive song “Rumors.”

Her lyrical dig at the paparazzi included the chorus: “I’m tired of rumors starting/I’m sick of being followed/I’m tired of people lying/Saying what they want about me.” I say this in the least shady way possible, but it’s not her Oscar-winning flicks that are keeping her name buzzing around.

  • 4 When Kanye West said he felt like he was treated like a “zoo animal.”

I understand that the struggle of maintaining privacy when you’re so famous could be challenging and irritating. But Kanye. You’re famous, and rich, and successful as fuck, so if this is a downside to all of that, you should probably just deal with it. On a private therapy island or something.

  • 5 Kristen Stewart compared looking at her paparazzi photos to looking at “someone being raped.”

She later apologized, probably after realizing that not only was that comment totally offensive to actual rape victims, but it was also unfair to the paps and the media generally, which helped her earn her $70 million net worth.

  • 6 Her former bae Rob Pattinson put his two cents in, too.

Fame for this millionaire is so hard. A few years ago, he complained that he “couldn’t go where [he] wanted to go,” and being in the tabloids everyday prevented him from getting movie roles. Do with that what you will.

  • 7 Shia LaBeouf was so over being “attacked,” he claimed he was quitting altogether.

In 2014, he tweeted: “In light of the recent attacks against my artistic integrity, I am retiring from all public life.” This was before the time he wore a paper bag over his head on a red carpet, btw.

  • 8 Megan Fox compared being in the media to being “bullied.”

…Even though she’s regarded as the sexiest person ever, 99 percent of the time. Can’t.

Watch Evan Rachel Wood call media-hater Shia LaBeouf “intense.”

Pizza is bae. And yes, I still say bae.
