Can You Believe These Actors Haven’t Won Emmy Awards?

Fingers crossed that changes Sunday.

Are you aware that we live in a world where gifted actor Jon Hamm has 16 Emmy nominations—six-effing-teen—and no wins? Oh! And he’s not the only one: Hilarious Amy Poehler has eight nominations but zero wins, and medical goddess Sandra Oh has five noms and no statues. So many gifted actors haven’t received the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences love they deserve, and we’re not here for it.

A few of the actors below are nominated for Emmys this year, so hopefully their losing streaks end. (Something has to give, right?) But before you tune in to the show Sunday at 8 p.m. on Fox, get the dish on 13 tremendously talented stars who—as of now—shockingly have no Emmys on their mantles.

  • 1 Courtney Cox

Despite starring in two hit shows—the great but tragically homophobic sitcom Friends and Cougar Town—Courtney has yet to scoop up an Emmy. In fact, she’s never even been nominated. Ever. That’s right: The Academy ignored Monica Geller. Sacrilege.

  • 2 Jon Hamm

He’s been nominated for 16 Emmys, including 12 for his iconic Mad Men character Don Draper—but Jon still has zero trophies to his name. He is up for two acting awards Sunday: Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for Mad Men (again) and Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Here’s hoping Jon and his big peepee (sorry, can’t mention one without the other) finally get the recognition they deserve.

  • 3 Amy Poehler

Two nominations for Saturday Night Live, six for Parks and Recreation (as Queen Leslie Knope), and yet no love for Ms. Poehler. She is nominated one last time for P&R this weekend. Don’t f-ck it up, Academy. Amy needs her gold.

  • 4 Michael C. Hall

As Dexter Morgan on Dexter, Mr. Hall collected six Emmy noms. (He also earned one for his work in Six Feet Under in 2002.) Unfortunately, that’s where it ends. No wins, and we’re pissed about it.

  • 5 Jerry Seinfeld

And just how many acting Emmys do you think Jerry won for his show Seinfeld? None. Because it makes a lot of sense that the star of one of the greatest TV shows of all time would have no Emmy to show for his effort. ?

  • 6 Kristin Davis

Somehow, neither she nor Kim Cattrall took home statues for their work in Sex and the City. Not sexy.

  • 7 Idris Elba

Sir Elba’s work in The Wire, The Big C, and Luther deserved all the Emmys. But for some reason, this talented hottie with eyes that will impregnate you has goose eggs. What gives, Academy? WHAT GIVES?

  • 8 Sarah Paulson

She’s been a slay queen for four seasons on American Horror Story and gave a searing performance in the 2012 HBO film Game Change. However, Ms. Paulson still hasn’t nabbed an Emmy. Sarah better win for AHS: Freak Show Sunday night, tbh. She had two heads the entire season—that’s twice the brilliant acting!

  • 9 Hugh Laurie

For his flaw-free role on House, Hugh racked up six nominations. But no wins. This is a special strain of bulls—t that even that genius doctor couldn’t diagnose or cure.

  • 10 Lorraine Bracco
    Getty Images
Apparently, a starring role on one of the greatest TV shows of our time (The Sopranos) isn’t enough for an Emmy. What did Lorraine have to do, y’all? Grow wings?

  • 11 Kerry Washington

If Kerry doesn’t win for Scandal at least once before the show ends, we’ll be v. unhappy. #Justice4OliviaPope.

  • 12 Sandra Oh
    Getty Images
Another prime example of a seasoned actress in a fantastic role (Dr. Cristina Yang in Grey’s Anatomy) with zero Emmys to her name. (Did we mention she was nominated five stinkin’ times?!)

  • 13 Matthew Perry

He was a comedic tour-de-force as Chandler Bing on Friends, but that only led to one Emmy nomination and no prize. This is a crime against comedy. Unless it was on the grounds that a lot of his jokes were incredibly insensitive, there’s no excuse for this.
