Rap artists are the ultimate hustlers. Headphones, clothes, liquor, energy drinks—if it makes dollars, then it certainly makes sense. So with the adult entertainment industry raking in billions of profits annually, it’s only right that rappers get in on the action. Take a look at some of the names who took a break from the mic to produce X-rated features.
Title: Snoop Dogg’s Doggystyle (2001), Snoop Dogg’s Hustlaz: Diary of a Pimp (2002), Sex and the Studio(2003), Snoop Dogg’s Doggystyle & Snoop Dogg’s Hustlaz (2005)
When your first album is titled Doggystyle then it only makes sense you delve into the world of adult entertainment. Plus, when have we ever known the Doggfather to turn down a check?
Title: Rack City: The XXX Movie (2012)
After the success of his breakout single “Rack City,” Tyga had the bright idea of releasing a flick by the same name. Yes, Tyga directed, produced and have a cameo in his very own adult film. His efforts earned him three nominations at the 2013 Adult Video News Awards.
Title: Groupie Luv (2004)
“Groupie Love” wasn’t just the name of a song off the group’s debut album, Beg For Mercy. It was also the name of their first foray into adult entertainment. Groupie Love allowed viewers to have full control over scenes, giving them an interactive sex experience. Unlike G-Unit’s debut album, there was no sequel for this one.
Title: Dipsexxx DVD Series (late 2000s)
These Harlem representatives may or may not have been inspired by G-Unit’s attempt, but they sure as hell took things further. The Dips treated adult entertainment like the mixtape game. They produced multiple volumes and used the brand as a marketing tool for their band.
Title: Coolio & the Gang Bang (2007)
From “Gangster’s Paradise” to gang bangs? Coolio’s entire career has been nothing short of a roller coaster ride. The Grammy-award-winning rapper (yeah, that’s right), has done it all— from appearing on Celebrity Wife Swap to writing a jingle for adult site Pornhub.
Title: Lil Jon’s Vivid Vegas Party (2006) Club Lil Jon (2011)
In his heyday, Lil Jon took a break from being the undisputed “King of Crunk” to drop the first of his two releases with porn giant Vivid Entertainment. The second release would drop five years later, but Jon would deny any association with the project.
Title: Luke’s Freak Show Vol 1-6 (2001-)
If anyone in rap should have his very own line of adult films, it’s raunchy rap legend Uncle Luke. His group 2 Live Crew was the embodiment of adult entertainment with tracks like “Me So Horny,” and “Pop That Coochie.” When it comes to the marriage of sex and rap, Luther “Uncle Luke” Campbell is pretty much the forefather.
Title: Treach’s Naturally Naughty Porno Movie (2002)
When you’re the co-founder of a group called Naughty By Nature, how can you pass up a porn role? This made sense to Treach as much as it made sense to us. Although his sex scenes were simulated — Treach holds the distinction of being the only rapper on this list to actually “go there” on film.
Title: Girls Gone Wild – Baby Bash Live and Uncensored (2008)
Back when the Girls Gone Wild franchise ruled the world (and owner Joe Francis wasn’t catching cases like Gucci Mane), the Bay Area rapper hooked up with the house Joe built for his very own edition. We’re sure this flick is a straight up Disney movie when compared to all the others films we mentioned.
