The People’s Choice Awards airs tonight at 9 p.m. on CBS. It’s one of the less-exciting shows this awards season, but it does have its positives. And we can’t cover the PCAs this evening without first reliving one of its finest moments: When Britney Spears, queen of running into poles, seemingly forgot how to walk while accepting her prize in 2014.
Things started out harmless. Heidi Klum squealed the glasses advocate won the award for Favorite Pop Artist. But then…something strange happened. BritBrit began walking up the stairs in a hella strange fashion, almost limping up one leg after another–like a constipated flamingo or something.
One of the presenters clearly saw Brit’s stair-climbing snafu as a major SOS, so he lent out his hand in support. Somehow, Britney made it up to the stage and gave a short and sweet speech. Thank God. We need more performances of “Pretty Girls,” to be honest.
But still the question remains: What exactly happened here? Was her dress too tight? Were the tall stairs intimidating? Was she trying out a new dance move? Whatever the case, it was iconic and further proves that Britney is flawless–even when she’s awkward.
Weird Britney Walk, you shall live on forever. We salute and support you.
