What Are the Actors Who Were Replaced on Iconic TV Shows Doing These Days?

Where the hell is the original Claire from My Wife and Kids?

Television has a long history of replacing actors after a few episodes and thinking no one will notice. (We always do.) However, have you ever wondered what happened to that one actor who was once on your favorite show and then–boom!–vanished into thin air? We did some digging, and found the whereabouts of 12 of them. Some are big stars and, well, some are not. You’ll see.

  • 1 Forencia Lozano, Gossip Girl
    The CW
    Lozano played Blair Waldorf’s snobby, materialistic mother Eleanor in the Gossip Girl pilot. However, she was replaced by Margaret Colin by pisode four. You can see her now playing Claudia Messina in the Netflix original series Narcos.

  • 2 Lily Nicksay, Boy Meets World

    She was Morgan Matthews on the show for two seasons before getting replaced by Lindsay Ridgeway. Nicksay is still a working actress, having last appeared in a production of See Rock City at the Rubicon theater. See her on Instagram here.

  • 3 Jo Marie Payton, Family Matters
    Family Matters
    Payton infamously left her post as Harriette Winslow in 1997 with only eight episodes left in the series. She was (briefly) replaced by Judyann Elder. She plays Lorene in the upcoming live-action Little Mermaid film.

  • 4 Jazz Raycole, My Wife and Kids
    ABC
    She originally played Claire Kyle in My Wife and Kids but dipped out after the first season. (Jennifer Freeman took her spot.) She played Lyric Ballentine on the TV Land series The Soul Man from 2012 to 2014. She starred alongside Karrueche Tran in the 2015 series Vanity.

  • 5 Ed Skrein, Game of Thrones
    HBO
    Skrein left his post as Daario Naharis on the popular HBO series after only three episodes. (He was replaced by Michiel Huisman). His last notable role was Ajax in Deadpool.

  • 6 Janet Hubert-Whitten, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
    NBC
    A contract dispute and now-infamous feud with Will Smith made Hubert-Whitten exit from Fresh Prince in 1993. Daphne Maxwell Reid took over as Aunt Vivian after that. Her last notable role was Dr. Stacey Slater in 2015’s No Letting Go. According to IMDB, she is in post-production for Not Another Black Movie.

  • 7 Mike Evans, The Jeffersons
    CBS
    Mike Evans was the first and last actor to play Lionel on The Jeffersons. However, he was briefly replaced by Damon Evans in between that time. Mike passed away in 2006.

  • 8 Parker Bagley, Pretty Little Liars
    Bagley only played hunk Jason DiLaurentis for two episodes before getting swapped for Drew van Acker. Bagley hasn’t acted since 2011, and in 2013 he pled guilty to stealing $7,000 worth of swag from a friend’s house.

  • 9 Anita Barone, Friends
    NBC
    Anita Barone portrayed Ross’ lesbian ex-wife Carol in the Friends pilot but was immediately replaced by Jane Sibbett. She last appeared on an episode of The Real O’Neals in 2016.

  • 10 Meagan Good, My Wife and Kids
    ABC
    Good played Junior’s girlfriend Vanessa on My Wife and Kids for five episodes. Brooklyn Sudano filled in after that. Good is a big movie star lady now. She had a main role on Fox’s Minority Report in 2015. She stars alongside Larenz Tate in Deuces, out some time in 2017.

  • 11 Luke Tittensor, Shameless
    Tittensor shared the role of Carl on Channel 4’s Shameless with his twin Elliott. However, he left the gig shortly after it started and his brother continued solo. His last notable project was playing Hippolyte in 2014’s Madame Bovary.

  • 12 Lacey Chabert, Family Guy
    Fox
    Chabert voiced the cynical Meg Griffin for 14 episodes. Mila Kunis eventually replaced her. Aside from being Gretchen in Mean Girls, Chabert starred alongside Mariah Carey in the singer’s God-awful holiday film A Christmas Melody.
