Celebrities Who Went to College After They Got Famous

It's never too late.

Ray J has made it clear that he's trying to build an empire so that Melody can be the most successful Norwood ever. From securing the bag with Raytroniks to working on being a better person on this season of Love & Hip Hop Hollywood, he's certainly on his way to ensuring Mel's success. Always scheming on his next money move, Ray just announced his latest venture that he'll be working on for the next few years.

Ray will be starting his freshman year in January 2019 at Philander Smith College. After meeting with students and the university's president last week, he felt like he had found the right HBCU for him. He says he chose a Historically Black College because he saw how much his parents benefited from their experiences and wanted something similar as he works on achieving his goal. No word yet on what he plans to major in, but we wouldn't be surprised if it is something business related.

Ray isn't the only celeb to get a degree after the fame. You might know about the Harry Potter actress who graduated from an Ivy League university in between filming, but what about the blockbuster director who returned to finish two semesters at his state school 35 years after dropping out? In honor of celebs going back to get degrees after their careers took off, here's a list of some of our favorites.

Swizz Beatz is no stranger to walking across stages. Last year, he walked across one like none other - Harvard Business School's graduation stage. After taking classes for three years, he finished his Owner/President Management executive program. Although he's officially a Harvard alum, he's still a rapper and music producer so of course he had to show off his swag in a way that none of his other classmates probably did while accepting that hard earned diploma. That's right, not only does the back of his custom suit say "From the Bronx to Harvard", the presenter of his diploma incorporated it into his name as he walked across the stage.
