Chris Brown’s Accuser Allegedly Tried to Frame Him

A suspect text message is the latest plot twist.

The Chris Brown / beauty queen saga continues. Earlier this week, Brown was engaged in a standoff with the police after a woman named Baylee Curran phoned 911 to say that Brown had pointed a gun at her. Brown was arrested Tuesday afternoon on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and was released on bail yesterday. Now, TMZ is reporting that Curran allegedly tried to set Brown up—and they’re citing text messages as evidence.

Curran allegedly sent a text to someone named Safari on Tuesday morning after the incident at Brown’s house. Here’s what the text said, according to TMZ:

“Hey safari don’t you know this freak Chris brown is kicking me out of his house because I called his friend jewelry fake can you come get me my Uber is messing up if not I’m going to set him up and call the cops and say that he tried to shoot me and that will teach him a lesson I’m going to set his ass up. Lol come get me.”

TMZ claims to have spoken to Safari, and his story doesn’t match Curran’s. Safari said the last time he spoke to Curran was about a year ago, when she allegedly stole his Rolex. TMZ says there’s also an issue with Curran’s Uber story—she had apparently been hiding from a Lyft driver the night she was at Brown’s for an unknown reason.

We hope the truth comes out soon. Updates to come as details emerge.
