Reality Show Couples That Were Fated To Be Together… And Some Who Met Their Fate

The reality show curse has been breaking up couples for years, but some have been able to stay strong strong and come out on top.

All reality show junkies are familiar with just how toxic a show can be for even the most coveted #relationshipgoals. It has become fairly obvious that reality shows can become a curse for a happy couple, but more pairs make it out alive than you might think. Let’s take a look at some of the most heart-breaking reality couple breakups, and to lift spirits, some of the couples that are breaking the curse and still holding on strong.

  • 1 Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag
If the pain of LC and Justin Bobby’s break-up still haunts you, rest assured in the fact that one couple from The Hills is still holding on. Their relationship is really the perfect example of “there’s somebody out there for everyone,” and gives hope to even the most hopeless of romantics. Speidi 4 Ever.

  • 2 Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey
Probably the earliest example of a reality show revolving around a celebrity relationship…and the earliest example of a reality show leading to a break-up. These two lasted 3 years being married and giving us classic “chicken or fish?” moments on Newlyweds until they called it quits.

  • 3 Ice-T and Coco
For three seasons of Ice Loves Coco, this couple made everyone jealous of how seemingly perfect their relationship is. Staying true to the name of the show, Ice catered to Coco’s every desire and the two were constantly displaying their love for one another–they even have a rule to not spend more than 24 hours apart.

  • 4 Reverend Run and Justine Simmons

They’ve been on their fair share of TV shows since the iconic Run’s House, all showcasing the longevity of their relationship. Maybe the key to a happy marriage is taking some much needed alone time with a bubble bath every once in a while…or every episode. God is love, Rev Run.

  • 5 “Boston” Rob and Amber Mariano
One of the very rare cases of a couple who met on a reality show and actually stayed together, Survivor contestants Rob and Amber got engaged on the show’s finale and have been married since 2005. The two later appeared on The Amazing Race and now have four children.

  • 6 Jon and Kate Gosselin
Jon and Kate Plus 8 plus a reality show unfortunately equals a divorce. Having eight young kids running around the house can’t be easy on any marriage, and when you add in a camera crew filming your every move, things get even messier. Kate still has her own show–Kate Plus 8–while Jon is trying to patch things up with his new girlfriend Liz Jannetta on Couple’s Therapy.

  • 7 T.I. and Tiny Harris
The T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle stars are known to break up and reconcile often, and Tiny recently filed for divorce. With the news that they’re filming their final season of Family Hustle, we wonder what their future holds and whether they’ll really break up for good.

  • 8 Kendra Wilkinson and Hank Baskett
In a true American love story, Kendra Wilkinson went from being one of Hugh Hefner’s Girls Next Door to finding her true love in NFL player Hank Baskett. The two moved onto displaying their relationship on their own shows (Kendra and Kendra On Top) and even survived an alleged cheating scandal a few years ago through couples therapy.

  • 9 Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne
Watching these two on The Osbournes gave an inside look at a relationship like no other. After 34 years of marriage, Sharon filed for divorce after an infidelity on Ozzy’s part, but the two reconciled quickly and are still happily ever after.

  • 10 Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom
After meeting, getting engaged, and getting married all within one month, it’s no huge shocker that this couple didn’t last. Their whirlwind romance all seemed so perfect on Keeping Up With The Kardashians, but with Lamar battling some deeper issues, things went south. The divorce between these two was just recently finalized, though they’ve been going through break-ups and reconciliations for years.

If I'm not at a concert I'm at home watching TV.
