Can someone help J. Holiday find his way back to 2007? Because that’s where he needs to return.
In today’s “2018 is wild already” news, the “Bed” singer emerged from the #TBT vault to give his unsolicited opinion about the state of the music industry and gripe about Black female artists using heartbreak as inspiration for their music. In his opinion, Black men are “losing” and have been disrespected at the expense of their most popular hits.

“I got daughters, man. Beyoncé, Cardi B, SZA — all y’all motherf*ckers — stop using that f*cking pain to make it okay to say some bullsh*t on your record and get nominated for a Grammy for going through some bullsh*t. Because so have I as a black motherf*cking man,” Holiday said. He then goes on to caption that h’s still “salty” that he lost to Mary J. Blige for this reason (referring to his 2008 Grammy nomination for best R&B contemporary album in which Mary took home the award) and argue that in this industry, pain wins instead of talent.
Now, we don’t know what’s crazier – the fact that he thinks Black women are the only ones who use life experiences to inform their work, or that he went after not one, not two but THREE of the most beloved artists on the planet right now. All we know is that the jokes that followed on Twitter were damn near magical.
By the looks of things, it seems like ‘Back of My Lac’ might be J. Holiday’s current living situation.

Next time just sit there and eat your food, babe.
Keyshia Cole is known for turning her heartbreak into music gold, but this time she needs A1 to take it to the next level.
