Here Are All of the Celebs Donating to #MarchForOurLives

They're in awe of the students who are standing up for gun reform.

After the tragic shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School that resulted in 17 young lives being lost, students of the school began to shout at the top of their lungs, “Never again!” We watched them rally together, deliver both well thought out and savage responses to politicians like Donald Trump and Marco Rubio, and garner international attention. These kids are, to put it simply: Inspiring.

And it all culminates with the March For Our Lives on March 24th. On Saturday, students will march in cities throughout the US calling for gun reform. Celebrities are in awe of their resilience and spirit. Here are the ones who have donated to the cause so far:

  • 1 George and Amal Clooney

The Clooneys started a movement among celebs with a statement in February. George Clooney said, “Amal and I are so inspired by the courage and eloquence of these young men and women from Stoneman Douglas High School. Our family will be there on March 24 to stand side by side with this incredible generation of young people from all over the country, and in the name of our children Ella and Alexander, we’re donating $500,000 to help pay for this groundbreaking event.”

After hearing about George and Amal’s contribution, Oprah stepped up to the plate, tweeting, “George and Amal, I couldn’t agree with you more. I am joining forces with you and will match your $500,000 donation to ‘March For Our Lives.’ These inspiring young people remind me of the Freedom Riders of the ’60s who also said we’ve had ENOUGH and our voices will be heard.”

  • 3 Jeffrey and Marilyn Katzenberg

Powerful film executives and philanthropists, Jeremy Katzenberg said in a statement, “Marilyn and I are proud to stand with the brave young leaders from Parkland, Florida, who have taken their pain and grief and turned it into action. We will join Amal and George Clooney on March 24 to stand alongside these remarkable young people. We are also donating $500,000 to March for Our Lives to support this historic event.”

Inspired by the Clooneys as well, the director and his wife matched their $500,000 contribution. “The young students in Florida and now across the country are already demonstrating their leadership with a confidence and maturity that belies their ages…They are an inspiration to us all, and we are joining in this movement with a donation of $500,000.”

  • 5 John Legend and Chrissy Teigen

The power couple donated $25,000 to the cause. John Legend said in an interview with the Associated Press, “We believe that our gun culture needs to change in America. We stand out among other major countries in the world when it comes to these kinds of massacres but also in the everyday gun violence that people have to deal with.”

  • 6 Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade

The actress and her basketball player husband donated $200,000 to the cause with Wade encouraging his NBA ballers to do the same.

  • 7 Joshua Kushner

This one is interesting. Kushner is dating model Karlie Kloss and is an entrepreneur. He also just so happens to be the brother of President Trump son-in-law and White House adviser Jared Kushner. He gave $50,000 to the cause. He was seen at the Women’s March after the inauguration in 2016, so we shouldn’t be too surprised, but we do love a sibling rivalry.

  • 8 Taylor Swift

The day before the march, Swift posted a photo of the March For Our Lives logo with the caption, “No one should have to go to school in fear of gun violence. Or to a nightclub. Or to a concert. Or to a movie theater. Or to their place of worship. I’ve made a donation to show my support for the students, for the March For Our Lives campaign, for everyone affected by these tragedies, and to support gun reform.”
