A father is more than a parent, he is a provider, a guide, and a protector among other things. Despite the personal drama our VH1 stars deal with, one thing is for sure: They prove over and over to be amazing parents, or make an effort to be one. From Black Ink Crew to Love & Hip Hop, these poppas take pride in always offering words of wisdom to their pickneys.
They say a father knows best and if anyone knows about rebuilding the self-esteem of their princess it’s Ceaser.
One of the greatest fears of a loving father is to hear that someone is making his baby girl cry. In this Black Ink Crew clip, following years of being absent, Ceaser is making the best effort he can to be there for his daughter. In catching up on Cheyenne’s school life, Ceaser’s heart breaks to learn that his daughter is being bullied over her weight. His mission now is to let her know that she is beautiful and perfect.
That’s not all. Ceaser also put the Harlem in him aside to let his daughter and her friends use him as a makeup model. Now, that’s love.
It’s not necessarily always sweet moments, though. Sometimes some tough love is required. TIP knows this all too well.
In this throwback T.I. and Tiny: The Family Hustle clip, TIP finds himself at his wits end when his son Domani returns from school with poor grades. One thing about TIP is that he takes education very seriously, so a haircut threat was necessary. It worked because Domani definitely got a tutor so he could keep his hair and get that studio time in.
Good thing the clippers didn’t come out because not only is TIP proud of Domani’s grades, but he’s also impressed with how his son uses his music to spread positive messages.
Now, someone like Stevie J may have a lot going on (and I mean A LOT) but he is always there for his children. Whether it’s helping Eva prepare for a bake sale:
Getting in the buff to help his son Dorian overcome some modeling fears:

Stevie has some of the best father moments. Don’t believe me? Check out this supercut below.
And teaching your kids about the birds & bees could be awkward but it’s a must. Walt from Black Ink Crew was new to the dad role at the time, but he got the job done—his way.
These dads may not be perfect, but they try and should be proud of their efforts because they’re doing a pretty damn good job. Salute to you dads. Enjoy your day!
