VH1’s Top Reality Dating Competition Shows of All Time

Let's be honest, VH1 has always reigned supreme on this one.

Throughout the years, VH1 has been known for a lot of things, and one of the constant threads has been reality dating competition shows. Going all the way back to Flavor of Love, there has been a lot of craziness in the name of love. In honor of our newest show, She’s Got Game let’s take a look back at some of the best VH1 dating shows of all time.

  • The one that started it all! We don’t think that anyone could forget the epic amazing-ness that was Flavor Flav and Co. giving his favorite women clocks and all the antics that ensued each week.

  • Like Flavor of Love, there were three seasons of Rock of Love, but that doesn’t begin to capture the craziness. There were fights over fur, tour buses, and stripteases all in quest of Brett Michaels’ heart.

  • When fans realized how crazy amazing Tiffany “New York” Pollard was, it didn’t take long for producers to give her a show of her own. After two seasons, New York put her love conquests on hold to instead Go to Hollywood and Go to Work.

  • 4 Real Chance of Love
After brothers Real and Chance failed to win New York’s heart on season one of I Love New York they got the chance the find the woman of each of their dreams. The brothers would go on to star in Real and Chance: The Legend Hunters. Real tragically passed away earlier this year of cancer.

  • 5 Frank The Entertainer In A Basement Affair
Just like with Real Chance of Love, Frank the Entertainer didn’t end up with New York, so he decided that his Italian parents could help him find the perfect companion.

  • 6 Daisy of Love
Moving now to the Rock of Love spinoff (there’s only one) Daisy de la Hoya (niece of boxer Oscar de la Hoya) was looking for a much different kind of guy than on the rest of these shows. Let’s just say there was a lot of hair bleach and mullets involved.

  • Before breaking hearts and pushing girlfriends into pools on Love & Hip Hop Hollywood, Ray J was the center of attention (and Danger) on two seasons of his very own show.

  • 8 The Pickup Artist
The Pickup Artist, was certainly a little different from most of the others on this list. Mystery, a certified love guru, helped guys who just continued to strike out in the love department. The show had two seasons, and taught countless guys how to play “the game.”

  • 9 Why Am I Still Single?
In case you don’t remember this one, Siggy Flicker and her team did a top-to-bottom makeover for each of the certifiably undateable contestants, and at the end of each episode they were (usually) able to find love…even if it didn’t last until the epilogue.

  • While dating naked is certainly a…different kind of dating show, it’s a competition nevertheless. This season especially, we see Chris and Kerri seeking for love with one of their 20 naked daters or maybe even one another.
