Your best friend Jason Bateman hits theaters this weekend in The Gift, a white-knuckle thriller about secrets and liessssss. Basically, Jason’s character Simon has a big-ass secret that his sketchball high school acquaintance Gordo (Joel Edgerton) is threatening to spill everywhere. What is it?! How will Simon stop him? *Heart palpitations.*

The Gift’s mysterious premise got us thinking about other mind-blowing secrets characters have kept in movies. Of course, there are plenty skeletons in closets in movies, but these are the 15 most shocking. Check ’em out! Spoilers ahead, obviously.
