In honor of Robin Thicke’s funk-tastic Blurred Lines album dropping on Tuesday, we’ve declared it Robin Thicke Week! One of the highlights of the new disc is the cut “Ain’t No Hat 4 That”, which features vocal help from Thicke’s 3-year old son Julian Fuego. With a name like that, you just know that this kid is gonna be a star! It’s pretty adorable, but Robin is far from the first doting parent to feature their pride and joy on one of their tracks. Read on the check out 10 of our favorite artists who’ve let their babies in on the family business!
10. “Isn’t She Lovely” by Stevie Wonder (ft. Aisha Morris)
Written as a tribute to his new daughter Aisha, the single version of this 1976 cut lets you hear only a short snippet of baby-babble. But the full length version off Songs On The Key of Life clocks in at over six and a half minutes, and offers extended sounds of Wonder playing with his lovely little girl.
9. “Just The Two Of Us” by Will Smith (ft. Trey Smith)
The Fresh Prince pumped up the awww-factor on this re-thinking of the Bill Withers/Grover Washington Jr tune by enlisting vocal help from his own little prince, Trey.
8. “My Dad’s Gone Crazy” by Eminem (ft. Hailie Jade Mathers)
The subject of so many of his songs, the already-famous Hailie Jade finally got to take the mic on this cut off 2002’s The Eminem Show.
7. “Ya Ya” by John Lennon (ft. Julian Lennon)
OK, it’s not technically a guest verse (and he’s not technically a tot, either), but the former Beatle’s young son Julian makes his record debut by playing the drums on this track.
6. “La Familia” by Jay Z (ft. Reign Mosley)
As we’ll see, Hova is quite the proponent of baby beats on his tracks. This loop features producer Timbaland’s daughter.
5. “One More Chance” by The Notorious B.I.G. (ft. Lil Cease’s niece)
Not Diddy’s son Justin Dior, nor Biggie’s own son as has been rumored, the voice on the answering machine urging ladies to “get off dad’s dick” is actually the niece of rapper and Junior M.A.F.I.A. member Lil Cease.
4. “Liberty & Justice” by Agnostic Front (ft. lead singer Roger Miret’s daughter)
Heavy metal shouter Roger Miret featured not only his daughter, but apparently the rest of her kindergarten class on this 1987 track.
3. “Trader” by the Beach Boys (ft. Jonah Wilson)
This late-era cut from America’s band features a brief cameo from Carl Wilson’s three-year-old son Jonah giving a short hello.
2. “Ain’t No Hat 4 That” by Robin Thicke (ft. Julian Fuego Thicke)
The man of the hour! This show stopping number from his brand new album features his awesomely-named three-year-old counting us in.
1. “Glory” by Jay Z (ft. Blue Ivy Carter)
For sheer epic grandeur, you just can’t top the Carters, who put this song out a mere 48-hours after baby Blue’s birth on January 7th 2012. Getting a record credit as a two-day-old? This kid’s gonna rule the world someday.
