Why Does YOK Artist Lorde Love Britney Spears?

VH1's September You Oughta Know artist Lorde might be on the verge of unwittingly becoming the world's newest pop sensation, but don't worry, the precocious teen is fully aware of the pitfalls of fame. If you follow Lorde's twitter or tumblr, you'll already know that she has a fascination with young starlets who have fallen from grace, but does she have a particular favorite "train wreck"?

"I don't know," she answers. "Britney [Spears] is fun."

Although Britney Spears might be cycling into a new era with her career with "Work Bitch" and her upcoming Vegas residency, 16-year-old Lorde has only grown up with the "crazy Britney."

Lorde says, "It was really interesting to me to read like the Rolling Stone article when she was like 17 and to get that story of her being this total sweetheart in America...which I find crazy."

Britney's great, but there might still be another more compelling train wreck in modern culture named Amanda Bynes.

"The whole world is just wanting to know what's going to happen next," Lorde explains. "You don't even need TV. You can just go on Amanda Bynes's twitter."

Lorde might be a teen star herself, but for some reason we're not worried that she'll follow Britney or Amanda into a downward spiral. Maybe it's because she's already aware of their stories, or maybe it's because she's already exhibiting an uncommon amount of maturity on her debut album, Pure Heroine, which you can listen to exclusively on VH1.com.
