guitarist Billy Martin, bassist Paul Thomas and drummer Chris Wilson kicks off September 18 in Madison, Wisconsin. Twenty-three dates are confirmed thus far, but the tour is expected to run through the end of November, according to the group's publicist.

The tour, which will be the band's last before it begins work on a new album, is divided into two legs. The first one will be with buddies Mest, whose singer, Tony Lovato, is Benji Madden's best friend, and Orange County's Something Corporate. The second leg will feature Eve 6 and Goldfinger.

Speaking of legs, Good Charlotte's Young and the Hopeless seems to have the gams of a long-distance runner. Having already spawned five singles, the latest being "Girls and Boys," the band and its camp are eyeing a sixth, though they've yet to settle on one.

When asked in June which song he'd next like to hear on the airwaves, Benji put his weight behind "Hold On." "It's my favorite song on the record," he said backstage at KROQ's Weenie Roast (see "Good Charlotte Beg Fans To 'Hold On' ").

Between now and the tour's launch, Good Charlotte will have a chance to catch up with friends and family while also gearing up for their performance at the 2003 Video Music Awards, to be held August 28 in New York. Good Charlotte are up for three Moonmen, including one the Viewer's Choice Award (see "50 Cent, Good Charlotte To Perform; Diddy, Kelly Clarkson To Present VMAs").
