Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay's Chris Martin have confirmed what many were starting to suspect — the couple are indeed pregnant.
Paltrow hosted the Music Has Power Awards at New York's Lincoln Center on Monday, and photographs of her
there revealed a more buxom figure than she's had of late, causing speculation. The couple were later "pleased" to confirm that she was expecting.
Martin and Paltrow's respective reps said on Wednesday (December 3) that the baby is due next summer.
The 26-year-old Coldplay frontman has been dating the 31-year-old Oscar-winning actress for a year and a half. They rarely publicly discuss their relationship, but wedding rumors have been following them since this summer, when Paltrow was spotted wearing what appeared to be an engagement ring during a vacation. Martin also revealed that the band's new song "Moses" had been written for Paltrow.
Though the couple declined to discuss wedding plans, Paltrow — who was previously linked to Brad Pitt and Ben Affleck — hinted that she was waiting for a proposal in a chat earlier this month with the BBC. When asked if it would be from Martin, she replied, "I'm the wrong person to ask. Ask him."
