Gone
is the hottest mixtape of 2009
thus far. That didn't sit well with some fans who are passionate about their favorite tapes as well. Personally, I think people just love to debate. We could have posted that Notorious B.I.G. used to live in Brooklyn, and some people would have written in to say we're wrong. It's all good, though. Whatever we put out there on the Internet, we stand behind, but we are interested in other opinions and always encourage readers to chime in.

"This BS is really nauseating," Formula_50 commented on the site. "G-Unit has been smashing the mixtape game consistently. Now, MTV is swallowing Drake because Wayne co-signs him. There's nothing out there hotter than War Angel."

That's just comedy at its poorest. Anyone who has read Mixtape Daily knows we are the first ones to tell the world about G-Unit mixtapes. Anyone who's been in tune with what we're doing knows that we were the first ones that 50 called to preview the tape.

JustRockwell wrote that he didn't like So Far Gone, but he did post some of his favorite picks. "The top mixtapes of the year are Wale's Back to the Feature, Izza Kizza's The Wizard of Iz, the Cool Kids' Gone Fishing, Rhymefest's The Manual and Donny Goines' The Breakfast Club. These mixtapes are much better than Drake's, in my opinion."

Hmmm. Well, look at today's Off the Dome video to hear why Rahman Dukes and I co-signed Drake's tape, and check out Mixtape Daily on Friday for a list of several other mixtapes we thought should have shine in 2009.

Do you agree that So Far Gone is the hottest mixtape of the year so far? Got a different pick? Sound off below!
