OK, not really. "We were in Milwaukee," bassist Pete Wentz laughed. "I was sleeping sideways in my hotel bed when I heard." That doesn't mean Wentz and his FOB mates aren't thrilled by the nomination of "I Don't Care" for Best Rock Video. Actually, it's the opposite. "It's really exciting because I think this is our fifth year in a row being nominated, and we really care about our videos, so to have them be appreciated is pretty rad," Wentz said. "It's always exciting for us, especially in a category like this, because there's a pretty good chance we will not win this award." So, if Wentz doesn't think his video will take home the Moonman, who is he betting on in the super-tight Best Rock Vid category? "Any one of those bands — besides us — could definitely take that award. I really like the Paramore video ["Decode"], because I usually think that movie tie-in videos are hard to do, there's not many that work, but that one did," he said. "Green Day is an unstoppable force, and I think this might be Kings of Leon's year. They're everywhere this year, so I wouldn't go against them in any award." Then again, the winner will actually be determined by the fans — voting is currently under way in Best Rock and a host of other categories over at VMA.MTV.com (Verizon subscribers can also vote by texting "VMA" to 97979) — and will remain open until September 13. And even if Fall Out Boy don't take home the Moonman, the guys will most definitely be attending the show ... especially since it's in New York City. After all, for Wentz, the city (and the show) hold a special place in his heart. "Absolutely, we're gonna be there. We're like Jack [Nicholson] at the Oscars. We're always at the VMAs," he laughed. "Plus, the last time the VMAs were in New York was when I met my wife [Ashlee Simpson], so I've got great memories. This report is provided by MTV News
