event's Web site with ticket requests.

Tickets went on sale as scheduled Thursday morning (August 20) for the September 26 concert — which is being held at the Schoenbrunn Palace in Vienna, Austria, and is being called "The Tribute" — and event promoters told The Associated Press that their Web site crashed more than half an hour before the sale was due to start at 11 a.m. ET after a million people had accessed it.

"The concept of 'The Tribute' is that some of the world's leading artists will perform Michael Jackson's greatest hits live onstage in an imperial setting, befitting the King of Pop," explained the show's official Web site. The site also notes that organizer and producer Jermaine will be announcing the full lineup at a press conference "at the end of August."

As many as 85,000 people are expected to attend the show, according to the site, with ticket prices ranging from around $90 (for limited view, standing-room-only tickets) to a top price of $787, which gets you a "gold seat." The site also notes that not all tickets will be made available right away, but will be rolled out in blocks in order to discourage black-market sales.

Regarding the show's lineup of performers, a disclaimer at the bottom of the order page reads: "Jermaine Jackson and the producers will make every attempt to present some of the world's leading artists, however there is no right or legal claim whatsoever that certain artists will perform at The Tribute. All ticket sales are final. Any refund or discount due to the performance or non-performance of a specific artist is hereby explicitly excluded."

Whitney Houston, Madonna and others were initially reported to be performing, but those rumors were quickly squelched.

In other Jackson tribute news, Tito Jackson announced that he will be touring the U.K. with Gladys Knight with a show that will act as a tribute to Michael. The tour will visit seven cities, and Tito teased that some of his other family members would make guest appearances at the shows.
