Wynonna Judd Explains Taylor Swift Dis
Judd clarifies what she said at the CMA Awards regarding Swift being too young for her success.

On Wednesday night, Taylor Swift stormed the Country Music Association Awards and took home all four prizes for which she was nominated,
including the much-coveted Entertainer of the Year trophy. While it seemed like a validation of Swift's success from the country music establishment, not everybody was pleased with the 19-year-old's victory. Country music legend Wynonna Judd spoke out against Swift's win, though she reversed her position on Thursday.
During an interview on the show's red carpet Wednesday night, Judd was asked what advice she would give to Swift. "You want my honest comment? It's too much too soon," she said, according to USAToday.com. "Time is God's way of keeping everything from happening at once. It's just too much of a good thing too soon. Mom and I rode in a car for the first year of our career to visit radio stations. There was a making of the star, there was a rising-up, and the fans went with us. Now it's over coffee breaks, the success, almost."
But on Thursday, Judd clarified her stance on the message board of her official Web site. "I understand that my comment about Taylor Swift's Entertainer of the Year nomination came across as a negative statement," she wrote. "My intent was not to take anything away from her talent and contributions to the country music industry, all of which are truly unprecedented for an artist of any age. Taylor is a beautiful, hard-working young woman that deserves the success she has had and I support her as an artist and as a woman in the business."
Whether Swift is too young to win Entertainer of the Year — she's the youngest ever to win the award, eclipsing Judd herself, who took the prize at age 22 — is something of a moot point, as her dominance at the awards show helped it reach its best ratings in four years, according to Reuters. An estimated 16.8 million people watched the three-hour show, which was broadcast live on ABC.
