KISS drum up some press by performing a "dress rehearsal" shortly after signing to Casablanca Records and honing their carnival-esque image. "Rock Around the Clock" singer Bill Haley finally brings the rock to Newcastle, Australia, along with Lavern Baker and Joe Turner. The portly jump-jiver had been reluctant to tour Down Under as members of his band the Comets were actually afraid of flying. Which makes their name somewhat ironic.
