EPIC APPAREL LAUNCHES THE “DOLLAR FOR DENIM” PROGRAM IN COLLABORATION WITH THE VH1 SAVE THE MUSIC FOUNDATION TO HELP RESTORE MUSIC EDUCATION IN SCHOOLS ACROSS THE COUNTRY.

Wichita, Kansas — Monday January 15 — Epic Apparel is proud to announce its “Dollar For Denim” promotion, a partnership with the VH1 Save the Music Foundation, a mission to restore music programs in public schools across America.

The promotion will begin Monday, January 15, 2007 on Shopepic.com, an online leader in premium denim, and will donate a dollar from every pair of jeans sold to the VH1 Save The Music Foundation. Customers will be able to choose from coveted lines like Hudson, Paige Premium Denim, 7 For All Mankind, True Religion, Citizens of Humanity and Diesel.

“My husband and I are passionate about music,” says Julie Rau who co-owns Shopepic.com and Epic Apparel with her husband Corey Rau. “We sought out this partnership with VH1 Save The Music Foundation because we believe that music should be a part of every child’s education and we wanted to give back to the community.”

Proceeds from the “Dollar For Denim” program will go toward purchasing new musical instruments for schools across the country which have been subject to severe budget cuts in their music programs resulting in elimination or lack of musical instruments.

“At Epic, our passions are music and fashion so it’s a perfect partnership. If we can use our influence in the fashion industry to support music education it creates a winning situation for everyone and it’s a project that we plan on implementing for the long-term” says Rau, who has a degree in elementary education.

The program will also be promoted at all of Epic’s bricks and mortar locations in Dallas, Wichita and Lawrence, where all jeans will have hangtags promoting the cause.

Since it was established in 1997, the VH1 Save the Music Foundation has donated $34 million worth of new musical instruments to 1,400 public schools in 80 cities, improving the lives of more than 800,000 children.

About to launch its tenth year, the Emmy and Peabody Award-winning VH1 Save The Music Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of education in America’s public schools by restoring music education programs in cities across the U.S. and raising awareness of the importance of music participation for our nation’s youth. VH1 Save The Music’s many honors include the Governors’ Award (a special Emmy Award), the George Foster Peabody Award for broadcast and cable excellence, and many beacon Awards.
