SPECIALTY RETAILER INTERMIX MERGES FASHION AND MUSIC THROUGH CHARITABLE PARTNERSHIP
Intermix Collaborates with the VH1 Save The Music Foundation for Spring 2008 campaign
New York, NY; March 28, 2008 - New York-based specialty retailer Intermix is excited to announce its partnership with the VH1 Save The Music Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring instrumental music education in America’s public schools, and raising awareness about the importance of music as a part of each child’s complete education.
“We are thrilled to partner with Intermix for their Spring Campaign," says Paul Cothran, Executive Director of the VH1 Save The Music Foundation. “It is important for people to recognize the central role music education has in a student’s life and our hope is to help raise awareness through this new initiative with Intermix.”
Through this initiative, Intermix continues to strengthen its philanthropic dedication to the arts, while effectively targeting the cultural lifestyle of its customer by merging fashion and music in support of children.
"Music is an essential part of the Intermix customer's in-store experience. Just as we support new and up-and-coming designers, we update our in-store playlists with mixes from some of our favorite emerging DJ's," says Intermix CEO Khajak Keledjian. "With every campaign, Intermix strives to touch on the interests of our clients. Partnering with the VH1 Save The Music Foundation for our Spring campaign is a natural fit with our brand philosophy. We are excited to be a part of a charity that gives those less fortunate the opportunity to develop their musical talent."
With the goal of restoring music education programs around the country, Intermix has pledged to raise a minimum of $15,000 for the VH1 Save The Music Foundation by donating $5 dollars from every gift card redeemed in-stores or on intermixonline.com. In addition, Intermix will be selling custom-designed tees featuring record album artwork on the front and the campaign tagline, "Spring Fever" on the back. The original vintage-inspired baseball tee retails for $65 on the website and in stores, with 10% of the proceeds from each purchase donated to the VH1 Save The Music Foundation.
Intermix’s Spring 2008 Campaign serves as the debut of a long-term relationship with VH1 Save The Music. Additional information on Intermix’s philanthropic initiatives or to purchase the vintage tee, please visit the official website: www.intermixonline.com.
