ELLE MAGAZINE JOINS VH1 SAVE THE MUSIC SUMMER CHARITY PROMOTION
ELLE, Sephora and Heatherette team up to Save The Music for public schools
NEW YORK - (June 21, 2006) - ELLE magazine, beauty retailer Sephora and chic designer Heatherette have joined up to produce a limited edition makeup bag to benefit the VH1 Save The Music Foundation. The Heatherette designed buy-to-benefit bag will be featured in a PSA featuring songstress Kelly Rowland in the magazine's July and August issues.
"I am thrilled that we have been able to support this program for the VH1 Save The Music Foundation," said Roberta Myers, Editor-in-Chief of ELLE. "I sincerely believe that the PSA will help raise both awareness and money for the Foundation."
The bag will be available online and at 125 Sephora stores nationwide beginning July 18th; it will retail for $37. Proceeds from the sale of the bag will benefit the VH1 Save The Music Foundation. This eye-catching must have will be stuffed with products such as Stila IT Gloss, Philosophy Falling in Love Perfumed Body Lotion, Benefit Dr. Feelfood and Urban Decay Big Fatty Lip Plumper.
"Sephora is excited to partner with ELLE, Heatherette and our brands to help further VH1's Save the Music cause" said Allison Slater, VP Retail Marketing for Sephora.
The makeup bag is being created in honor of the fourth annual VH1 Save The Music Hamptons Benefit. It is the one of the summer's signature Hamptons events; a glamorous, celebrity-studded outdoor fund-raising concert. Hosted by board members Jaci and Morris L. Reid, the event is expected to raise more than $300,000 this year. The makeup bag will be available for sale at the July 28th gala. To purchase tickets for the Hamptons Benefit please call 212-846-7882 or email rsvp@vh1.com.
To celebrate the launch of the bag Jaci and Morris L. Reid, Roberta Myers, and Richie Rich and Traver Rains of Heatherette will attend a shopping benefit June 28th at the Union Square Sephora store in New York City. The cocktail party will preview the makeup bag and feature complimentary makeup consultolations for invited attendees.
"Music education programs have eroded in many cities and communities across the country during the past 30 years," said host Morris L. Reid, the managing director of Westin Rinehart, www.westinrinehart.com. "We are dedicated to helping VH1 reverse this trend to ensure all children have access to a quality education that includes music. The money raised through the sale of this makeup bag will greatly benefit the Foundation and help it fund the very necessary programs that it supports."
