bluhorse clothing debuts 'relaxed luxury' equestrian line for upcoming fashion season

launches hip, new collection with sister company bluhammock music at first annual bluparty to be held in water mill with hamptons magazine

PRNEWSWIRE - NEW YORK – August 2, 2007bluhorse clothing, sister company of bluhammock music, today announced the debut of a new clothing collection for hip, equestrian lifestyle-oriented individuals who enjoy an aesthetic sensibility of relaxed luxury.

Fashion meets action-based function via exquisite fabrics, hand tailored polos, oxfords and hoodies with embroidered, riding-specific slogans that include HEELS DOWN and EYES UP among others.  While equestrian-inspired, the new bluhorse collection, and music lifestyle label  bluhammock music, represent relaxed luxury with an outdoor sensibility, and sporty, hip vibe.

Performance-enhanced, bluhorse clothing is designed with sunscreen woven into the fabric of the capsule collection oxfords, and there is an enlarged hood on the hoodie to accommodate a riding helmet or make a fashion statement.

The bluhorse clothing custom collection will initially be sold at select specialty retailers and national horse shows.  The newbluhorse collection and retail website launched July 2007, and a permanent bluhorse boutique is featured throughout the summer in Calgary at Spruce Meadows, the largest premier equestrian park in Canada. This new capsule collection will be available at select retailers throughout the U.S. in Fall 2007. To visit log onto www.bluhorseclothing.com.

According to Jaylaan Llewellyn, 27-year old President of both bluhorse and bluhammock music, “The new
bluhorse clothing collection is really designed with equestrians in mind, but since this lifestyle is currently in vogue  with upcoming films, and fashion catwalks globally, it seemed the ideal time to introduce this aesthetic in tandem withbluhammock music’s ongoing music lifestyle tours across the country.”

bluhammock music’s second bluparty, a VIP by-invitation-only event will be held Thursday, August 30, 2007 in Water Mill, jointly-hosted with Hamptons Magazine in celebration of The Hampton Classic, the annual equestrian competition, will feature bluhorse attire worn by guest-hosts and celebrities alike. Event ticket proceeds will benefit the VH1 Save The Music Foundation, Group for the East End and H.E.L.P. USA.
bluparty tickets will go on sale for $100 on August 1st via www.bluhammock.com, and will also be available for sale at the door the night of the event for $150. Limited ticket quantities available, blue-colored attire required.

This official Hampton Classic party will be an unforgettable event with 400 guests including Hampton Classic VIPs, guests of our media sponsor Hamptons Magazine and invitees of our charity sponsors. The event will feature a live performance by bluhammock artist, Cary Brothers (also included on the Garden State and upcoming Feast of Love Soundtracks, Grey’s Anatomy, Scrubs).

A bluhorse clothing ‘pop-up” store with ‘bluhammocks’ for lounging and CDs will also be located at The Hampton Classic.

Complimenting bluhammock music talent, the world-famous Buddha Bar will also create a custom menu and feature a DJ to spinning the label’s signature chilled-out sound. Visuals will be by Luxe Gallery via video installations by Marie Maillard, the featured video artist for Chanel's Metropolitan Museum of Art exhibition.

about bluhammock music
When bluhorse clothing and bluhammock music Founder / President Jaylaan Llewellyn accepted a job in the music programming department at VH1 shortly after graduating from Harvard University in 2000, she knew that she was on the path to a successful and fulfilling career in music.  As she strived to get her boss at the time to air a debut video from then-unknown rockers Coldplay on the station, she learned to trust her eyes and ears to spot emerging talent.

After Llewellyn left VH1 and successfully joining the William Morris agency in June 2004, she had a life-changing lunch meeting with Michael Chambers, co-founder of Artemis Records where she sourced strategic ideas about starting a label.  “By the end of lunch, he offered me a deal,” Llewellyn says.  “I was shocked.  I had no talent signed at that point, but right then and there I decided I had the confidence to start my own label called bluhammock music.”

Distributed by Sony’s RED distribution arm via MRI, bluhammock music has since signed a roster of popular talent including Cary Brothers, Swati and Kristoffer Ragnstam among several others. These artists’ tracks are already being cited in the national music and lifestyle press, on television programs and commercials and in worldwide films.  2008 will feature bluhammock music production of independent films.
