Keke can next be seen starring in the DirectTV miniseries "Full Circle," (October 9, 2013) written by acclaimed screenwriter Neil Labute and also stars David Boreanaz, Billy Campbell, Julian McMahon and Kate Walsh. In addition to Full Circle, Keke can also be seen starring in the much anticipated made for TV original movie CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story, the true story of the biggest rap/pop female singing super group of the 90's, TLC.
Keke will soon begin production on a lead role in the Flower Films horror/thriller, Animal, directed by Brett Simmons and executive produced by Drew Barrymore and Nancy Juvonen. The movie will be released in 2014.
In 2012, Keke produced her first project, the made for TV original movie, RAGS, that aired on Nickelodeon to rave reviews. The film garnered a #1 soundtrack on iTunes and reached as high as #3 on the Album Chart. The made for TV original movie was also produced by Nick Cannon. Keke was last seen on the big screen in Joyful Noise (Warner Bros). The film's soundtrack also reached #1, performing alongside Oscar Nominated Actress Queen Latifah and Country Music Legend Dolly Parton. Keke received praise from many critics for her "young and inspiring" rendition of the Michael Jackson song, "Man in the Mirror." In that same year, she starred in two motion pictures (Ice Age and Joyful Noise) as well as two made for TV original movies (The Carlina White Story and Rags). Ice Age: Continental Drift grossed over 800 million dollars worldwide! In the movie, she voiced the character of 'Peaches,' the precocious teenager daughter of Ray Romano's character, "Manny." She was asked by Fox Executive Robert Kraft to record the theme song for the movie, titled "We Are," which was later chosen to be the theme song for the American Team at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Keke's vocals were heard on NBC during the two week coverage of the London Games!
Keke first received great acclaim when she starred as the title character in the Lionsgate Films/Starbucks Entertainment sleeper hit Akeelah and the Bee, opposite actor Laurence Fishburne and Angela Bassett.
She also appeared in the Lionsgate drama Shrink, where she starred alongside Kevin Spacey and Robin Williams. The film premiered at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival where Keke received rave reviews for her performance.
In 2008 Keke starred in the Weinstein Co. feature, The Longshots. The film was based on the true story of a young female quarterback played by Palmer that makes Pop Warner history. She starred opposite Ice Cube for first time director and Limp Bizkit front man, Fred Durst. That same year she starred opposite Sam Jackson and Eva Mendes in The Cleaner, which premiered at the 2008 Toronto International Film Festival.
Her greatest television success came from playing the title character in the hit Nickelodeon series, "True Jackson, VP." For 68 episodes she played a high-school student who becomes the head of a major fashion company. True Jackson bowed with over 4.8 million viewers, which at that time set a record for Nickelodeon's largest audience for a live-action premiere. For her performance as 'True,' Keke received four NAACP Awards for "Best Actress in Children's Television." In addition to "True Jackson," Keke's other TV credits include "90210," "Cold Case," "Law & Order: SVU," and "ER," to name a few.
In addition to acting, Keke believes in giving back. She is very involved with The Boys & Girls Club of America, Saving Our Daughters, WYMCA, and she is an ambassador for Robbi Reid's Aids Foundation.
