About Episode

Carmen Electra always knew she’d be a star. With dynamic looks, an audacious personality and a flair for controversy, the triple threat of sex symbol, dancer and actress has become one of the most beloved faces in America.

Tara Patrick, the talented little girl from Ohio, discovered dance early in life, winning her first competition at the age of 5 and entertaining the neighbors by performing scenes from the soap opera All My Children in the basement. By age 9 she had enrolled in the Creative Arts School and had her heart set on stardom. Determined to get noticed, she moved to LA at 18 and was quickly discovered by none other than rock royalty, Prince. Under his tutelage, Tara Patrick moved to Minneapolis, was re-named Carmen Electra, and released her first album. Her record got only a lukewarm reception, a disappointment that drove a determined woman to return to LA and pursue stardom even harder.

Driven is a series that follows the journey from childhood to the first glimmer of stardom, informed by the people who knew the artists best: creative partners, teachers, family members and friends. Most importantly, Driven shows us the full range of its subjects’ strength of character as they overcome the obstacles that present themselves on the rocky road to fame.

Driven: Carmen Electra will show the upward trajectory of an ambitious and audacious young woman who made it out of suburban Cincinnati and wooed the nation with her siren persona, gorgeous body and bold ways. We’ll see how Carmen’s love of the spotlight and the role of entertainer drove her onto a Playboy cover, into a Baywatch swimsuit and onto MTV’s Singled Out, before she discovered a movie career and love with Jane’s Addiction’s Dave Navaro. We will also watch Carmen overcome the devastating deaths of her mother and sister, blows that deeply changed her forever.
