Singer/songwriter Warren Zevon died on Sunday, September 7th, 2003. When he was diagnosed with mesothelioma, a rare type of terminal lung cancer in August of 2002, his wish was to record an album dedicated to saying goodbye to the people he loved. In this episode of VH1's (Inside)Out, Zevon shares the creative process for that album and some poignant moments with the many fans that have supported him throughout his career.

Hosted by Billy Bob Thornton, (Inside)Out: Warren Zevon follows the songwriter through his personal journey with this terminal illness and chronicles the development, production, and impact of his album The Wind.

This episode features interviews with Jackson Browne, Stevie Nicks, Mick Fleetwood, album producer Jorge Calderon and Warren’s two children. Throughout the show, Warren Zevon discusses his struggle with this disease to his friends and speaks about how his condition has affected the development of his album The Wind. Inside/Out: Warren Zevon also includes excerpts from Zevon’s personal diary, as well as clips from his live performance on The Late Show with David Letterman.
