Fifteen ordinary men from all across America will leave behind the nine-to-five grind to compete for one of seven six-figure, one-year contracts as a member of a traveling male strip revue troupe. Instead of pushing paper eight hours a day, these ordinary guys will get paid to entertain thousands of smitten female fans. It's every man's fantasy, but for seven men it will become a reality when they hit the Vegas stage in the series finale.
The journey begins with Billy Cross, the creator of the internationally celebrated male revue, Thunder from Down Under, and VH1's Rachel Perry traveling cross-country in search of wholesome, attractive guys who have the confidence to strut their stuff. Strip Search documents every step of Billy and Rachel's journey as they meet real guys, from wheat farmers to Wall Streeter's, construction workers to computer techs, military men to mortgage brokers.
From their cross-country search, Billy and Rachel pick fifteen regular American guys to train for the biggest opportunity of their lives. The fifteen men must undergo intense dance training, team building exercises, and survive a "body shop" with top choreographers, trainers and nutritionists while living in close quarters. Each week, the men are evaluated by Billy, and one must be eliminated.
Finally, with eight men still in the running, the team heads to Las Vegas to prepare for their big premiere. The moment of truth has arrived-their terrifying first performance in front of a live audience of hundreds of screaming women is only days away. The intense rehearsals continue on the Vegas stage where they will make their debut. Every man will put on the performance of his life, because while eight men arrive in Las Vegas, only seven will make the grade and perform with the troupe when Billy makes his final cut right before show time.
One by one, Billy will eliminate the players throughout the series, until he has his final seven dancers - the hottest real men in America. They will be judged on their physical fitness, dance skills, work ethic and their ability to work as part of a team. Fifteen guys begin, but only seven will live the dream.
