John Waters' 1988 film drew on Rikki Lake's charisma and a Top 40 of obscure R&B gems to tell how a big-boned gal desegregated The Corny Collins Show. The toe-tapping Broadway musical replaced the likes of Gene and Wendell's "The Roach" with show-stopping numbers like "Big, Blonde and Beautiful."
