Kid Rock’s Sprite Fried Turkey |

Crab and Onion Relish
1 pound fresh lump crab meat (or imitation crab)
1 cup of onion relish (from jar)
1-2 pinches of salt to taste
1-2 pinches of black pepper
Prepare: Mix lump crab meat with onion relish and salt and pepper. Serve on crackers.

Roasted Butternut Squash
4 cups diced butternut squash
1/2 cup maple syrup
2 tblsp brown sugar
2 pats of butter
2 pinches of salt and pepper
Prepare: combine squash with syrup, brown sugar, butter and salt and pepper. Bake in a roasting pan until brown and tender in 350-degree oven.

Onion Pie
3 cups of sliced Vidalia or any other sweet onion
1 1/2 cup of heavy cream
2 eggs
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
Crust
2 packages of Ritz crackers crushed
1/4 cup of melted butter (enough to make cracker crumbs come together)
Filling: Sauté onions, cool. Whisk eggs, cream and salt and pepper, add cooled onions
Crust: Mix butter and crushed cracker crumbs in a lightly buttered pie tin. Add onion filling and bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until filling is, firm.

Kid Rock’s Sprite Fried Turkey
1 15 lb. Turkey
2 cans of Sprite
2 Tblsp Salt, pepper
2 Tblsp Paprika
2 Tblsp Season Salt
2 gallons of peanut oil or vegetable oil
Tools
24 Quart pot (pot or larger)
Propane burner
Lifting rack
Thermometer
Best to prepare this recipe outdoors over a propane flame. Heat oil to 325-350 degrees while preparing the turkey.
*Use caution as hot oil can cause serious burns
Rub the bird with tablespoon of salt, pepper and dry spices. Mix the rest of the spices with the Sprite and use a spice injector to inject spice/Sprite mixture into turkey.
Carefully put turkey into the hot oil using a frying basket.
Cook for 48-50 minutes. Take bird out carefully using frying basket when done.
Let turkey rest for about 30 minutes on a rack on top of a tray lined with paper towel. Slice and serve.
