Josh Dodes Keeps On Running
One of Bands on the Run's biggest surprises was the introduction of New York's Josh Dodes Band during the second episode. For the next three cities, JDB hustled at the Hard Rock, crashed their van, and played to an audience of one in Cleveland. But when Flickerstick won last Sunday's battle of the bands, the third-place act had to go home. Keyboardist Josh Dodes isn't bitter. He just hopes people enjoyed the music. C. Bottomley asked him about life after VH1.
What was your first reaction on learning that you were in last place and were leaving?
It was kind of disappointing from a professional standpoint. It would have been nice for us to keep going, and that was really what we came to do - more than playing the game itself, in fact. But on the flip side - and I'm speaking for me and not so much for the rest of my band - I was relieved in a lot of ways. It was a strange environment. I was excited to get back home and resume some sense of normalcy after this kind of "through the looking glass" experience.
