We gave each band a van and sent them to 11 American cities to play separate venues on the same night. From selling tickets to getting publicity, success or failure is in their hands. Watch them in hotel rooms, clubs, and on the road, and get a candid look at what the rock life is like in the trenches.

HERE'S HOW BANDS ON THE RUN WORKS:
The bands promote and play 13 shows over eight weeks.
The bands set their own ticket and merchandise prices.
The band that makes the most money over the course of the tour wins.
Two bands will be eliminated during the tour.
Two finalist bands will compete for the grand prize.
At each tour stop, there will be a challenge in which the bands can make extra cash.
No cell phones, credit cards, or spare cash are allowed.

A video that will be placed in heavy rotation on VH1
A showcase gig before the A&R heads of major record labels
VH1 PROVIDES FOR THE PLAYERS:
